    Founder at Stay Golden Custom

The year that I graduated from high school, Vanessa Smith hired me as a Street Marketer for Murphy Hospitality Group, one of my first real jobs (after the dish pit and Tim Hortons). I learned a lot that summer and had a lot of fun as we started to build Stay Golden Custom in the background. It was really nice to catch up with Vanessa last week on her Business in the Open podcast that she launched earlier this year along with Refy Agency. We had the chance to chat about the advantages of starting early, the value of mentorship and what's next for Stay Golden Custom. The episode from our conversation is now live on Spotify and Apple Music 🎙️https://lnkd.in/eXQBK-3j

Matt Thomson (ELP16), Coltin Handrahan (ELP15) and WMI's own CEO Sally Ng, ICD.D are featured in the latest edition of the Atlantic Business Magazine. They're among a rising tide of emerging CEOs who value mindfulness, collaboration and social impact in their work. As workplaces change, some of these CEOs also serve as bridges across generations. "Millennial values around work-life balance have reshaped expectations at a lot of companies and have changed how leaders need to recruit and build their teams," explained Coltin. "I think instead of talking about generational differences, we can really benefit from identifying common and shared values to help gain from the experience of generations before us, while striving for a vision that our future generations deserve," said Matt. 🎄 Season of Giving 🎄 With 2023 coming to a close and the holidays quickly approaching, Stay Golden Custom chose three initiatives to support this December to give back to our community across Prince Edward Island: 1️⃣ The Hunter River Community Fridge 🥫 Hunter River set up their community fridge earlier this year and the need is higher than anticipated. Our team wanted to do our part to help support the community fridge with a donation to help restock it in the lead up to the holidays. 2️⃣ Grammy's Gifts 🎁 Our neighbors at PEI Property Brothers started this great initiative last year that will deliver Christmas presents to deserving families who could use a little extra cheer this year. 30 families across the island will benefit from their help this Christmas. 2️⃣  The Reg Charity Hockey Game 🏒 Remembering Reg MacInnis, a community leader who loved bringing others together, we’re donating 100 custom winter toques as a part of the fundraiser for “The Reg” charity hockey game between PEI Brewing Company and Lone Oak Brewing Co this weekend. This game will help raise food and money for local food banks. Come cheer with us on December 23rd, 7:30 PM at the Eastlink Centre. A big thank you to all our clients and the community for their support during 2023. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from all of us at Stay Golden Custom 🎅
