This is the last week to apply for the 2025 Grains Innovation Fund, where successful projects can be reimbursed for 60% of costs, up to a maximum of $50,000! Proposals must demonstrate the use of at least 40 metric tonnes of Ontario barley, corn, oats, soybeans, and/or wheat crops or crop residues annually, or demonstrate significant future utilization of Ontario grains or grain residues. The Grains Innovation Fund seeks innovative projects that will utilize at least 40 metric tonnes of Ontario barley, corn, oats, soybeans, wheat or associated crop residues annually. Innovators from across the value chain, such as food processors, feed manufacturers, bioproduct pioneers, marketers, retailers, and beyond could be eligible. Grain Farmers of Ontario is still seeking applications for the 2025 Grains Innovation Fund! The Grains Innovation Fund supports the development of new and reformulated products and processes that utilize Ontario barley, corn, oats, soybeans, and/or wheat crops and crop residues. Strong projects will utilize over 40 metric tonnes (or one truck load) of Ontario grains per year and develop key markets for Ontario grains and grain residues.
