🌟 Honoured to be recognized by ACI World! 🌟   I was thrilled to officially accept the award for “Best Airport Over 40 Million Passengers in North America.” Toronto Pearson received this accolade for 2023 earlier this year. The Airport Service Quality program measures more than 30 performance indicators of airport experience, directly gathered through surveys from passengers. This is a prestigious award, recognized and coveted by airports across North America.  We also received the Level 3 Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation by ACI World - Airports Council International for our commitment to prioritizing and ensuring a safe, accessible, and inclusive travel experience for passengers with disabilities. Toronto Pearson was the first airport in North America receive ACI’s accessibility accreditation in 2022. A special shoutout to Zacharia Omar for representing our team at the ACI event through the Young Professional Program! Toronto Pearson is more than an airport - it’s an economic driver, innovation hub, and the gateway to Canada for millions. I am so proud of our team and the passion and dedication they bring every day and every night. Today at the GTAA we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. This day is dedicated to honouring Indigenous children who were taken to residential schools in Canada, along with their families and communities. To reflect and raise awareness we are partnering with the Woodland Cultural Centre (WCC) to offer virtual learning sessions and tour of the former Mohawk Institute Residential School to all GTAA employees. Through these educational opportunities we work towards reflection and reconciliation not just today, but every day. // Aujourd’hui, à la GTAA, nous soulignons la Journée nationale de la vérité et de la réconciliation, aussi appelée la Journée du chandail orange. Cette journée vise à rendre hommage aux enfants autochtones qui ont été emmenés dans des pensionnats au Canada, ainsi qu’à leurs familles et à leurs communautés. Pour réfléchir et sensibiliser, nous collaborons avec le Woodland Cultural Centre (WCC) pour offrir des séances d’apprentissage virtuelles et une visite de l’ancien pensionnat de l’Institut mohawk à tous les employés de la GTAA. Grâce à ces occasions d’éducation, nous favorisons la réflexion et la réconciliation non seulement aujourd’hui, mais tous les jours.
