Yesterday, Greenwin welcomed Sari Nisker-Fox to our office to lead small group Stretch & Connect Yoga sessions in honour of World Mental Health Day. Prioritizing your health and well-being is vital for both your physical and mental health. It was a great session where team members explored a seated stretch, breath exercises and a mindful minute. Thank you so much Sari for the wonderful sessions! World Mental Health Day, observed annually on October 10th, provides us with an opportunity to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote mental well-being. At Greenwin, to promote strong mental health and wellness, we offer valuable resources and support to our team members; we encourage open conversations to reduce stigmas around mental health; we invest in our residential communities to offer wellness facilities including green spaces, fitness facilities, and more; we operate programming in our communities to provide mentorship, mental health support, access to necessary resources, and connectivity within our communities. #worldmentalhealthday #strongcommunity

Honouring National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause today to reflect on the painful legacy of Canada’s residential schools and commit to ongoing learning and meaningful action. At Greenwin, we are dedicated to supporting Indigenous communities through continuous education and tangible efforts. It is an honour to work with incredible organizations, such as the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC) on our path towards reconciliation. Today, we observe a moment of silence and wear orange in solidarity, recognizing that reconciliation is a journey we are committed to year-round. We are so proud to see this amazing project come to life at our Villa Marie property. A huge thank you to STEPS Public Art, Clear Eyes Collective, Ossana Ber, our Villa Marie team, and all of the residents who are bringing this beautiful mural to life.
What you won’t see on the news… Greenwin Corp. buildings are more than just places to live—they’re vibrant, connected communities where residents feel a strong sense of belonging. Our Villa Marie property in #Hamilton is a shining example of this. Led by Ossana Ber, STEPS Public Art, Liza Mishko and the incomparable Clear Eyes Collective (CEC) team, we recently had the opportunity to launch an on-site community mural project. Over several sessions, residents: 💡 Shared creative ideas 🎨 Learned street art techniques 🤝 Collaborated on the mural with neighbours and CEC artists This project takes me back to a mural we did in the Black Creek Community 15+ years ago. There’s nothing as powerful as bringing people together, empowering them to share their voices, and creating space for residents to shape their own environment. As STEPS put it: “Creating community with community.” As housing providers, community-building is at the heart of what we do. I’m proud that this project sparked creativity, built relationships, and strengthened our residents’ sense of belonging — and trust in our team. Huge shout-out to Ossana Ber and our Villa Marie site team for pushing this over the finish line. Greenwin was proud to support and attend the 9th Annual East Asian Internal Support Network (EA-ISN) Charity Golf Tournament this week, co-hosted by Toronto Police Service 31 Division’s Community Policing Liaison Committee (CPLC). ⛳️ The EA-ISN, created by the Toronto Police Service in 2008, connects over 200 officers and civilians, providing mentorship, networking, and professional growth. This year’s tournament raised funds for the Mon Sheong Foundation, Canadian Chinese Youth Athletic Association (CCYAA), and the CPLC Student Leadership Bursary Awards, while fostering community engagement between law enforcement and the public. Special thanks to Robert Johnson, M.O.M. for joining us at this impactful event! #CommunityEngagement #GreenwinCares #LawEnforcement #CharityGolfTournament 📷 Mark Yan

We recently hosted our first Indigenous Cultural Competency Training, led by the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC) and organized by Jenn Green, Director, Affordable Housing and Corporate Social Responsibility, Greenwin Corp. The full-day session was attended by a broad cross-section of our team, including President & CEO Kevin Green and Chairman Cary Green. At Greenwin, we are committed to meaningful steps toward reconciliation, with education as the first critical step. This training challenged us to rethink our knowledge of Indigenous history, culture, and experiences, and to confront long-held assumptions. Participants left empowered to be agents of change, gaining insights on making a tangible difference for Indigenous communities. This is just the beginning. We are dedicated to fostering cultural sensitivity and inclusivity in our workplace and in the communities we are fortunate to serve as we work towards a more respectful community. https://lnkd.in/g9ZP6ZGk #culturaltraining #reconciliation #GreenwinCares

Yesterday, #TeamGreenwin hosted a Family Chill-Fest at our Head Office, an afternoon that brought together our team members and their loved ones for some well-deserved fun. On what turned out to be one of the hottest days of the summer, there was no better way to cool off than with a cold treat. Events like these are a testament to why Greenwin has been a trusted name in the industry for over 75 years. It’s our people – and the sense of family they bring – that have made us who we are today. We’re proud of our team, and we’re grateful for every opportunity to come together and celebrate the culture that makes Greenwin so special. #GreenwinCares #companyculture #community #familyfun

#TeamGreenwin was thrilled to attend the Federation of Rental-housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO) Women in Rental Housing Luncheon last week! It was an inspiring day filled with powerful conversations about the importance of women coming together to support one another in the workplace. We were especially proud of our very own Ossana Ber, Manager, Community Engagement, who spoke on a panel alongside other female leaders in our industry, Anannya B., National Marketing Manager, Metro Compactor Service Inc. and Sam Amin, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Docebo. Moderated by Brandi McIlvenny Clarke, BA, MA Leadership, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Brandi Clarke Consulting, they unpacked crucial industry statistics and findings related to women in the workplace, delving into topics such as burnout, how we can better support one another, and the areas where we are thriving, as well as those where there is room for improvement. A huge thank you to Lynzi Michal and the FRPO team for hosting such an important and impactful event.
