Today, October 24, is the International Day of Climate Action. This is a time to recognize the people from all over the world who are working to protect the earth. HalifACT, our climate action plan, aims to regulate fossil fuel pollution, boost resilience to climate change and move toward a clean energy future. Our efforts recently earned us an award from ICLEI Canada and Climate Proof Canada for Economic Resilience and led to Mayor Mike Savage being recognized by Clean50 for making the municipality a global leader in climate action. We applaud the people and organizations from around the world who are seeing the ways that climate change can hurt the people and places we love and are doing something about it by taking action against climate change. Learn more about climate action at halifax.ca/takingaction.
