Today’s Healing Healthcare Thought of the Day: attitude of gratitude 🙏🏼 Taking a moment each day to pause and reflect on what we’re grateful for can be transformative. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s easy to get caught up in the next task, the next goal, or the next challenge. But when we take a step back and acknowledge the small (and big) things that bring us joy, we cultivate a mindset of positivity and resilience. ✨ Gratitude helps us appreciate the present, strengthens our relationships, and keeps us grounded, even in difficult times. It’s a simple practice, yet it has profound impacts on our mental and emotional well-being. 🤲 Today, make it a point to pause and express gratitude for the people who support you, the opportunities that challenge you, and the moments of peace that keep you centered. Encourage others to do the same! 🫶🏼 What are you grateful for today? Healing Healthcare
Non-profit Organizations
Welcome to Healing Healthcare! A healthier tomorrow for all starts with us today. ✊🏼
About us
Healing Healthcare is the only Canadian National not-for-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that health care workers & first responders know how to take care of themselves, first, so they can continue to help others. This includes students, as wellness strategies cannot start early enough. Although we can't fix system problems with bubble baths and aromatherapy, we can ensure every worker knows what works for them when it comes to taking care of themselves. Research shows that healthy healthcare workers contribute to better patient outcomes, so a healthy workforce is the lifeline to better health for all. We know that mental health is health, and an integral part of every person's life journey. Our vision is to create a paradigm shift in the health system where mental health and physical health finally see equitable resources. We envision a future where every individual has access to compassionate, high-quality care and every health care worker is equipped to provide continuous care at this level. We are committed to empowering providers to deliver anti-racist, anti-oppressive, inclusive, affirming care. Our Values: 1. [E]quity 2. [R]espect 3. [A]ccountability Through education and resource-sharing, we cultivate a culture of self-care and support, empowering healthcare workers to navigate their roles with agility. We champion holistic initiatives for mental, emotional, and physical wellness of health providers, recognizing the pivotal role staff play in others’ healing journeys. #healthcareselfcare It's time for a Healing Healthcare E.R.A! Why? Because a healthier tomorrow for all starts with us today.

Todays Healing Healthcare Thought of the Day: No cookie-cutter self-care! 🙃 Since we are all unique, it only makes sense that what works for one person for self-care may not work for another person. This is exactly why it’s vital to educate and share a diverse range of self-care resources, and encourage folks to spend some dedicated time figuring out what works for them. 🙇🏾 Bubble bath? 🛀 Jog? 🏃🏻 Playing guitar? 🎸 Singing your favourite song at the top of your lungs in the shower? 🚿🎶 Screaming into a pillow? 🙆🏻♀️ There’s so many things that can help you take care of your wellness, and release stress. And we are right here to help you figure it out. 🫱🏽🫲🏾 If you’re feeling stuck on how to help yourself, your colleagues, or your employees on this important journey, send us a message today and we’ll help you get started! 📩 #healinghealthcare #healthcareselfcare #selfcare #cdnmed #nurses #physicians #supportworkers #alliedhealth #caregivers #healthcareheroes #wellness #youtime #support #education #empowerment #resources

Exciting news! You can be a part of the positive change at Healing Healthcare ! 🥳🤩 If we didn’t know it before the pandemic, we sure as heck see it now… self-care for all who work in healthcare is so essential.💡 Many health/care education programs have a cited “focus” on the importance of self-care but don’t yet teach enough tangible skills in their curriculum, so folks can figure out what works for them personally as they navigate careers in a high-stress, high-pressure, high-impact field like healthcare. Healing Healthcare is a national nonprofit dedicated to tackling this gap by prioritizing free access to self-care resources for healthcare workers. 🥳🤩 We have a broad view of what a healthcare worker is to ensure the resources are readily available to everyone who can benefit. “Healthcare workers” includes those in all settings who care for others, including but not limited to: nurses, physicians, HCAs & PSWs (formal and informal), first responders, allied health, home caregivers, home share providers, and more! 👏🏼 Can’t wait for you to see the amazing accessible resources to come. 🫶🏼 The organization is currently operating on a fully volunteer capacity. 🤲🏼 If you’re able, please be a part of the change and donate now to help lay the tech foundations for this amazing initiative, so the essential resources can be housed forever in a FREE, on-demand website capacity! 🙏🏼💜 Donate here! Zeffy supports nonprofits in fundraising with NO fees which is amazing: ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gFJyzuKg If you aren’t able to donate, totally understandable, but please do share this post to expand the reach! ✊🏼 #healinghealthcare #healthcareselfcare #youarenotalone #cdnhealth #caregivers #practitioners #changemakers #healthcare #healthcareheroes #resourcescoming #staytuned #bethechange #philanthropy #donatenow #donation #callfordonations

Today’s Healing Healthcare Thought of the Day: self-care: luxury or necessity? 💡 Self-care is often perceived as a luxury, but for health workers, it really is a necessity. 🙏🏼 When we prioritize our well-being, we enhance our ability to empathize, make sound decisions, and offer compassionate care. 🫶🏼 By taking time to recharge, we can prevent burnout, compassion fatigue, and maintain the energy needed to support our patients effectively. Ultimately, our commitment to self-care isn’t just for us—it’s a critical component in delivering the highest standard of care to those who depend on us. In nurturing ourselves, we cultivate the resilience and clarity required to nurture others. 🌱🪴 What do you think, is self-care important? What have you done for self-care lately? (hint: ALL big & small acts are incredibly helpful!) On National Indigenous Peoples Day, we honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous communities across our nation. It's a time for celebration, reflection, and a renewed commitment to justice and equity. ✊ To improve health outcomes and build trust, healthcare leaders must prioritize cultural safety. This means integrating Indigenous perspectives into health systems, ensuring Indigenous patients feel respected and understood, and addressing their needs holistically. Key actions include: 1. Engage with Indigenous leaders and communities to understand their unique health challenges. There is a respectful way to do this, and if you are not aware of what this looks like please reach out and let communities teach you (enter: cultural humility!) 2. Equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge to offer culturally relevant care. 3. Implement policies that prioritize cultural safety in all aspects of healthcare. Recruit fulsome Indigenous groups/advisory committees to provide expertise into the decolonization of policies. 4. Collaborate with Indigenous communities to co-create health initiatives, if you are invited to do so. This does not mean swooping into a community to try and mandate some novel treatment or initiative, this means asking communities what their priorities and needs are, and ensuring they lead the initiative so that the service delivery outcomes are relevant for the community. Non-Indigenous folks and colonial systems are allies and supporters, first and foremost. Let's commit to these steps to transform our health systems and achieve health equity for all. What have you done lately as an act of reconciliation in action? If you can't think of an answer, now is the time to figure out how you can use your position or platform to advocate for equity, justice, and reconciliation. 🔍 We can all do something, and in order to achieve any level of tangible reconciliation, we all must. 🏋♀️ #NationalIndigenousPeoplesDay #CulturalSafety #HealthEquity #SystemsTransformation #IndigenousHealth #LeadershipInHealthcare #LeadershipExcellence #cdnhealth #healthcareexcellence #nonprofit #reconciliationinaction #callstoaction #Indigenoushealth #collaboration #healinghealthcare #partnership #coalitions #reconciliation #Indigenousled #Indigenousexcellence #healthleaders #peopleleaders #changemakers #systemschange

Today's Healing Healthcare Thought of the Day! 🧠 You deserve YOU time! Taking a moment for yourself is not a luxury; it's a necessity for your well-being. 🤸♀️ You deserve time to recharge and care for your mental and physical health. It's vital to take care of yourself first, so you can continue to take care of others! 🙏 Here's a self-care task for you to try today. On coffee break, before or after work, give it a go! 🤩 If you've done this before and want to LEVEL UP, write down how you're feeling before beginning (tired, sad, anxious, blah, happy), and rate each feeling that you think of from 1-10 with 10 being the most extreme that feeling has ever felt. Then, rate the same feelings again after the exercise and see if anything has changed. This insight helps you to know how the self-care exercise jives with you and if it potentially is helpful as a daily practice! 🤟 Today's exercise: Take a 5-minute mindful breathing break. Find a quiet spot, sit comfortably, close your eyes, and focus on your breath. Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of four, hold for a count of four, and exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of four. Repeat this cycle for five minutes, allowing yourself to feel grounded and rejuvenated. 🤲 #healinghealthcare #healthcareselfcare #TOTD #thoughtoftheday #selfcare #mindfulbreathing #break #breaktime #coffeebreak #healthcareheroes #youtime #takecareofyou #shortbreak #grounding #groundingtechniques #reflection #stressmanagement #stressrelief #breathing #breathwork #mindfulness #focus #attention #destress #prioritizeyou #health #wellness #mentalhealth #mentalwellness #holisticwellness #cdnhealth #nervoussystem #calming #nervous #anxiety #selflove #mindfulnesspractice

Today's Healing Healthcare Thought of the Day - Yes, improved accessibility, part 2! This is not a mistake! 🫰🏼 Other than geographic area, there are SO many barriers to people accessing the essential services they need. This includes geographic (as prior discussed) barriers, but does not stop there. There are: 🎤physical barriers 🎤barriers for those who aren't neurotypical 🎤barriers for those who aren't heteronormative 🎤barriers for those where English is not their first language 🎤barriers for those who don't understand how to navigate the system 🎤barriers for those who emotionally can't handle the stress of even trying to figure out how to get their needs met 🎤barriers in planning how to resolve barriers without fully thinking the planning through or having diverse representation in the planning group 🎤barriers to provider availability as graduating healthcare workers become more and more specialized over time 🥁unfortunately, the list goes on I challenge each of you to reflect today on how you can start to remove some of these barriers, every day, as you work in the system. Have you done something to improve accessibility lately? Even if it's seemingly small, it's not! We want to hear about it! 👏 #healthequity #healinghealthcare #cdnhealth #physicians #healthleaders #ruralhealthcare #determinantsofhealth #nurses #healthcareheroes #accessibility #equity #thoughtoftheday #TOTD #nofilter #someonehadtosayit #jointhemovement #joinus #letsconnect #letstalk #letsgrow #dialogue #shareyourthoughts #perspective #thoughtchallenge #thoughtleadership #healthcaresystem #systemschange #systemsthinking #leadership #cdnmed
