Building a new venture without validating the idea by testing its underlying assumptions is risky. As corporate innovation leaders, it's easy to get lost in the excitement of new ideas. We’re guilty of it too! But to ensure that our solutions have the potential to scale, we need to test for market traction (aka the proof that the market desires and will pay for the thing we’ve created). This is critical to do before spending an undue amount of time and money on your ideas. Join Elizabeth van Monsjou, PhD, Senior Director of Venture Strategy, for an online workshop on October 29th, 1-2pm EST to learn how to test for traction (or market proof) that your idea is worth launching by signing up here: https://lnkd.in/g6MKS3r8 #corporateinnovation #executiveworkshop #learninganddevelopment #venturebuilding #validation

Build better ventures.
About us
Highline Beta is a hybrid corporate venture studio and VC firm that evolves the traditional management consulting model to put things into action, not just strategize in the clouds. We work with large corporates and family offices to identify and validate new growth opportunities and build ventures (spin-ins and spin-outs). We help companies and family offices design, build and run corporate venture studios, enabling them to repeatedly develop new businesses. Some of our clients include: RBC, AB InBev, Colgate-Palmolive, Cincinnati Insurance, Greenshield Canada, Munich RE, Mattel, 1848 Ventures and others. We work with executives to build new ventures both inside and outside of their organizations to unlock new areas of growth. We bring a startup mentality and execution capabilities to our corporate clients to help them grow beyond their core. Highline Beta is led by entrepreneurial leaders with track records of starting successful businesses and building incredible value, and we work with some of the world’s best-known companies to help them solve their growth innovation challenges.

Great to see the progress being made by FLORA (Flora Fertility) as they announce their $1.5M pre-seed financing round!
It's always exciting when a portfolio company raises money, especially when you were there from the very early days. FLORA (Flora Fertility) just announced they've raised a $1.5M pre-seed round. We participated in the round, alongside Cartography Cap, Everywhere Ventures and a group of amazing angel investors. Flora is building a first of its kind fertility insurance product for women. 1 in 6 will struggle with fertility and the solutions for managing those challenges are limited and expensive. Flora wants to help people protect their future fertility. I love what they're doing. It matters. They can make a huge difference for millions of people. I'm glad Highline Beta had an opportunity to work with the Flora team - Dr. Christy Lane, Laura J. McDonald and Somil Jain, FCAS - from the very beginning through our venture studio model. And we continue to support them as they prepare to launch and build an amazing company. Congrats to Flora on hitting this milestone. It's one of many we know will happen in the future.

We're hiring a new role -- Head of Venture Building. Details: https://lnkd.in/gn4xb9J4
We're hiring for a new role at Highline Beta -- Head of Venture Building. This is an opportunity to build new ventures with partners, lead projects and work in a variety of different industries. This is not a people management role. You'll lead projects, but we want someone with the right mix of strategic experience and "dirt under the fingernails" execution capabilities. Please don't apply if you want to "manage a team". * We do work across different industries and domains; if you're not insatiably curious and excited about diving into new spaces, don't apply. * If you have experience designing, building, launching and/or running venture studios -- we should definitely talk! * If you have experience and love building new ventures from what I call -1 to 1, please take a look at the role. * There is a BD / sales component to this role. There will be travel. Not exhaustive, but expect to be visiting prospects / clients every couple months. ✅ Please share this with your network! ✅ If you're the right fit, apply! https://lnkd.in/eTFGYUbs

In partnership with Kolab Ventures, we're building a new B2B Fintech in Mexico (for the Latin American market), and we're hiring a Founding CEO. The new startup is focused on providing greater access to capital for small and medium enterprises in Latin America. There are thousands of non-bank lenders seeking to enable growth of these SMEs, but it is too expensive or too difficult to reach profiles that fit their criteria. We are working on a solution to help SMBs understand their financial information, predict future needs, and connect to the right lenders to meet those needs. Our mission is to empower the next wave of SME growth in Latin America. As a Founding CEO, you will: ✅ Lead the company with a focus on go-to-market strategy, borrower/lender acquisition and partnerships. Kolab Ventures and Highline Beta will support with product development capabilities. ✅ Get your hands dirty and work with a small, nimble team. This startup is going from 0 to 1 and we are not looking for a "manager" but someone that can execute work at the grassroots level. You can be located anywhere, but will be required to travel to Mexico regularly. You will receive a salary and equity compensation (owning a significant portion of the company). You need to be fluent in Spanish. Ideally you have fintech experience at a startup, ideally as a previous founding or senior executive. If this sounds like a good fit, please apply! And we appreciate anyone that sends us referrals too. Thank you! https://lnkd.in/g_mEKkxw
