TEXAS: Bell County took a major step in modernizing its cooling system by replacing outdated McQuay/Daikin water-cooled chillers, pumps, and four (4) Evapco cooling towers with a high-efficiency, self-sustaining solution. The project began with a full demolition of the aging equipment, clearing the way for a new 60’ x 85’ concrete pad to support five (5) Daikin AGZ230 air-cooled chillers and five (5) B&G inline pumps. Utility relocations and new piping connections ensured seamless integration with the existing system. To enhance performance and ease of operation, the upgrade also included a new electrical service and a full Distech controls system for smart, automated management. TEXAS: The Terrace 6 & Terrace 7 projects marked the first installation of the new Daikin R-32 Self-Contained Units. HTS collaborated with AirTex Services and Cousins Property Management to upgrade their self-contained units. The Phase 1 units are serving the 6th floors of both buildings. Phase 1 of the Terrace 6 & 7 projects was particularly complex, as these were the first four R-32 units to come off the Daikin Applied Self-Contained assembly line. Additionally, the installation process presented challenges due to limited clearance in both the elevators and mechanical rooms. The entire installation of all four units took place over four weekends, beginning in mid-February and concluding in early March. We are especially appreciative of the parts teams who assisted with a few parts challenges and the service technicians who volunteered their time on a Sunday to help with the system start-up. TEXAS: The UT Southwestern Moncrief Medical Center was on a deadline for their HVAC renovations to meet the Texas State Board of Pharmacy’s stringent standards for temperature and humidity. Our experts provided the medical center with a custom Innovent DX unit, which features dual tunnels for 100% redundancy. This feature was integral so that if one tunnel’s component, such as the compressor, fans, or VFD fails, the unit will automatically switch to another tunnel.
