Hydro Tech was tasked with replacing and aligning a turbine bearing when we discovered the guide bearing journal was too damaged for reuse. Typically, this would require full disassembly, but a derated crane ruled that out. Our solution? Rigging beams, jacking procedures, and adjustable supports. We removed the original bolt-on sleeve and installed our proprietary two-piece weldable sleeve, followed by in-place machining to meet final dimensions. By thinking outside the box, and collaborating with HydroPoint, we turned a potential setback into an opportunity to extend the life of the client’s assets. 🫱🏼🫲🏼 🌟 Want to hear more? Delivered within 13 weeks, this set—measuring 26 inches in diameter with 6 pads—is one of our smallest to date, especially compared to the 10-foot diameter pads we've previously supplied.
