Beginning July 2024, Microsoft will enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all Azure administrators. All users signing into Azure portal, CLI, PowerShell, or Terraform to administer Azure resources are within the scope of this enforcement. MFA continues to be a critical control, if you don’t have it enabled yet then you are really exposing yourself to significant risk. Medibank’s lack of multi-factor authentication in Global Protect VPN allowed hackers to infiltrate systems.
