  • Today marks the first day of Patient Safety Week Canada, a critical time to reflect on how we can create safer healthcare for all. At ICN, advocating for better health outcomes for those living in Alberta means putting patient safety at the forefront. But to truly make a difference, we need to rethink what patient safety really means. It’s not just about refining practices or implementing new protocols—it’s about changing the entire conversation. By viewing patient safety through a new lens, we unlock the potential for more effective solutions and a healthcare system that better protects everyone. This Patient Safety Week, we’re proud to spotlight the exceptional work of Healthcare Excellence Canada. Their brochure, “Rethinking Patient Safety”, offers a fresh perspective on how we can address healthcare harm. It challenges us to redefine how we talk, think, and act when it comes to safety, sparking the innovative strategies needed to make real, lasting improvements. 🔗 Rethinking Patient Safety ( https://lnkd.in/ew8R3Mg ) Now is the time to challenge our assumptions and embrace new approaches. Together, we can build a healthcare system that is not only safer but also more resilient and compassionate. Let’s use this week as a springboard to rethink patient safety and take bold steps toward a safer future for all.

  • We’re pleased to share information about the 9th Annual Patients Redefining the Future of Healthcare in Canada Summit, taking place from November 19th-21st. This event, hosted at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre in Toronto and available online, brings together patients, healthcare professionals, and innovators to explore the future of patient-centered healthcare in Canada. While we are not directly involved in the summit, we believe the values and mission of the organizing group closely align with our own focus on empowering patients and fostering meaningful conversations about our healthcare system. "I’m excited to see this summit advancing patient-centered dialogue, which is central to what we do at ICN. Having worked with this group before, I know how strongly their mission aligns with ours—to create a healthcare system that truly listens to and empowers patients." – Alana Kitchen, ICN Board Member For more information and to register, please click here ➡️ https://bit.ly/3UKih7h

  • October 10 is World Mental Health Day 🌍 Mental health is an integral part of overall wellness, and at Imagine Citizens Network, we’re dedicated to ensuring it’s a priority in healthcare. Today and all days, we stand with individuals and families impacted by mental health challenges. By empowering citizens to actively participate in healthcare decisions, we can advocate for a system that values mental wellness and prioritizes accessible, patient-centered care for all. Let’s work together to remove the stigma, amplify patient voices, and build a healthcare system where mental health is treated with the compassion and support it deserves. 💚
