Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation , we come together to acknowledge the painful legacy of residential schools in Canada and honour the survivors, their families, communities, and the thousands of Indigenous children who never made it home. The orange shirts we wear today symbolize the resilience of Indigenous communities and the need for continued efforts toward healing, reconciliation, and understanding. But our responsibility does not end with wearing a colour. Today, and every day, we must educate ourselves on this tragic legacy within this country, listen, reflect, and advocate for systemic changes. Let’s take this time to reflect on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action and think about how we, as individuals and as a society, can contribute to meaningful change. It is important to also remember that reconciliation is not a single day’s task, but a continuous journey toward respect, equality, and healing. #EveryChildMatters #OrangeShirtDay
