20 Years of Empowerment! Last Friday, we marked our 20th anniversary with an inspiring masquerade gala at Winnipeg's Fort Garry Hotel - and a special highlight was MedeChan's incredible $1,000 donation to Community 204 (community204.ca), supporting a non-profit that has provided over 40,000 meals and 317 beds to those in need. Total raised for Community 204 was $1,906. The evening was a powerful testament to Indigenous entrepreneurship, honouring founder Patricia Turner's visionary leadership that has transformed opportunities for Indigenous businesses across Manitoba. Had a productive meeting today with the Deputy Minister of Finance discussing our collaboration between the Indigenous Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and CPA Manitoba. We’re working to increase Indigenous representation in the accounting profession through initiatives like the Manitoba Indigenous Learners in Accounting (MILA) program, which provides mentorship, pathways for Indigenous learners, and culturally tailored support.
