The Canadian Government's recent announcement on funding for Indigenous-led initiatives in Northern Ontario introduces a diverse range of projects aimed at fostering economic development and sustainability in the region. Some of these projects include ventures in sectors like mining, which will support resource development and job creation for local communities, as well as biomass energy projects that promote renewable energy and environmental stewardship. Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day). It’s a time to honour the Indigenous children who endured residential schools and acknowledge both the historic and intergenerational impacts that Indigenous communities continue to face. We encourage everyone to participate in this meaningful day of reflection by wearing orange, attending a local event, or taking the time to learn more about the Residential Schools System and the ongoing injustices Indigenous communities experience. #EveryChildMatters Resources to learn more: https://loom.ly/j4fMsAg
