  • On October 30th, we proudly launched the Indigenous Youth Reconciliation Barometer 2024: Building Connected Futures report with an event in Ottawa.   Nearly 100 partners, collaborators, and youth advocates joined us to hear from the Centre for Indigenous Policy and Research team about our commitment to centering Indigenous youth voices, the critical role of Indigenous youth leadership in shaping the project, and some of the report’s key findings. Indigenous youth who contributed at different stages also shared their visions for the future and discussed the importance of youth-led research.   Thank you to Maura Martina, Logan Beauchamp and Megan Dicker for your invaluable contributions and inspiring discussion. We are so grateful to everyone who made this project possible and to all who attended to learn about this impactful research.  We look forward to sharing deeper insights from the data and seeing how it advances the priorities of Indigenous youth from coast-to-coast-to-coast!  To read the report, check out the link in our bio or: https://lnkd.in/eRh9mz_7

  • We join our kin in grief and in honoring the life and enduring legacy of Murray Sinclair 🧡 A true visionary and advocate for truth, justice, and reconciliation, Sinclair’s impact on what is now called Canada is immeasurable. As the first Indigenous judge in Manitoba, a former Senator, and the chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, his relentless dedication to Indigenous communities and residential school survivors has shaped the nation’s history. We remember his kindness, generosity, and steadfast commitment to change—qualities that defined his leadership and continue to inspire us. His lifetime of listening, learning, and action has left a powerful legacy that will guide us as we work to uplift Indigenous youth and mobilize TRC Call to Action 66. Wela'lin / Niá:wen / Miigwetch / Hiy Hiy / Maarsii / Nakurmiik / Merci Honourable Murray Sinclair—your spirit and influence will live on. 🧡 Our hearts are with all his relations, offering love and condolences. 🍓 #MurraySinclair #TruthAndReconciliation

  • We’re thrilled to announce the official launch of our report, Indigenous Youth Reconciliation Barometer 2024: Building Connected Futures! 🎉🎉 One of the largest national Indigenous youth-led research initiatives of its kind, over the past year we engaged with 1,125 Indigenous youth (aged 18-29) from coast-to-coast-to-coast through in-person and online sharing circles, and an online survey to explore how Indigenous youth envision their own futures when it comes to culture, wellness, education, meaningful work, solidarity, reconciliation, and the places where these parts of life intersect. Through conversations with Indigenous youth and careful analysis of data, this report offers an understanding of what youth want for their futures and what supports they need to realize their goals. We’re so excited to share the wisdom and insights of the Indigenous youth who contributed to this work with you. 📖 Check out the link in our bio to read the full report! https://ow.ly/62x150TVrsT
