Spotlight on Cynthia: Her New Chapter at Ing & McKee We are thrilled to welcome Cynthia as our new Director of Commercial Lines! With her vibrant personality and extensive experience, she is ready to energize our team and guide our talented commercial brokers. Cynthia’s journey into insurance began as a curious teenager who approached her local broker with questions about Alberta’s auto insurance policy. In her new role, Cynthia is committed to fostering strong client relationships and empowering our brokers. She emphasizes the importance of understanding clients’ unique needs, building relationships to attract new clients, and positioning brokers as trusted experts in their field. Outside of work, Cynthia enjoys quadding with her family and is dedicated to charity. She balances her professional and family life with clear communication and organization. Happy Labour Day! Today, we celebrate the incredible achievements of workers across our province. Labour Day has its roots in the labour union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated for a balanced life with eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest. Please note that our office is closed today in observance of this important holiday. If you need immediate assistance, you can contact your insurance provider directly or call our after-hours claims line. Insurance Fraud Prevention - Efforts are being made to combat insurance fraud and streamline the regulatory system. This includes implementing an Insurance Validation Program to help law enforcement validate a driver’s insurance status at the roadside. https://lnkd.in/gvnvYVhX When a driver is pulled over, law enforcement officers can input the driver's information into the system, and the program quickly checks the insurance status associated with that driver. The program then provides immediate feedback to the officer, allowing them to verify if the driver has valid insurance coverage. This real-time verification helps in deterring insurance fraud and ensures that drivers are in compliance with insurance requirements. Ultimately, it is supposed to help contribute to safer roads for everyone by promoting responsible driving behaviour and ensuring that all drivers have the necessary insurance coverage. What are your thoughts - With the advancement of technology that enables quick and accurate verification of insurance status, it does raise questions about the necessity of requiring physical proof such as the pink slip. While the intention of law enforcement is to uphold regulations and promote safety on the roads, it's important to consider how technological advancements can be leveraged to improve processes and reduce unnecessary fines. Finding a balance between enforcing regulations and utilizing technology to streamline verification processes important. Do you think it's worth exploring how these advancements can benefit both drivers and law enforcement?

After the recent severe weather in northeast Calgary, we’ve received numerous calls from people looking to start home and auto insurance claims. We also see a surge in claims during wildfire season, like after the fires in Jasper. Alberta experiences a high volume of claims, and when they occur, they often happen simultaneously. In the insurance industry, these events are referred to as catastrophes. We want to take a moment to give a shout-out to our brokers for staying late and working diligently on all the incoming claims, ensuring our clients have one less thing to worry about. Insurance is a challenging industry because we often encounter clients during their most stressful moments, urgently needing our assistance. We would like to express our gratitude to our amazing team for their extra effort. It doesn’t stop with the brokers; our reception staff is on the front line, and we have the best of the best. So, thank you! We know our brokers care deeply, which is why they love what they do. It’s a tough industry to be in, but we are grateful for their service to our clients. #amazingteam #ingandmckee #thankful
