🚀 Start your career in #medtech from Canada's best training ground: #Medventions. Based at Sunnybrook, #MedventionsToronto is seeking applications for the Winter 2025 program. The Medventions program is an immersive physician-led, hospital-based, four-month, paid fellowship program made up of multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, engineers, and life sciences graduates. These teams identify promising needs in a clinical area, prototype and test solutions, explore initial tech transfer, regulatory and reimbursement issues and develop a plan for further research and development. 🫀 The clinical area of focus for the Winter 2025 program is cardiovascular disease, focusing on #imageguidedtherapy and #artificialintelligence. ❄️ The Winter Program will run from January 2025 to April 2025. ⏰ The deadline to apply for the Winter 2025 program is Friday, November 8th. 🌟 Excited to be at the 8th Annual Medventions Toronto Innovation Day 🌟 The #MedventionsTorontoInnovationDay is dedicated to accelerating innovation in Canada’s health systems, and we are proud of Sunnybrook’s grassroots effort to drive medical innovation and nurture talent in healthcare and biomedical sciences. And guess what? It’s working! Why is this so crucial? We need to speed up the pace of change to meet the demands of a growing, aging population with rising expectations. The good news? We can absolutely do it! One of the key takeaways from today is the importance of integrating digital technologies into medical devices to enhance long-term patient outcomes. Bill Hunter aptly pointed out, “Now, we do surgery with a micrometer (e.g. robotics) and follow up with a sextant (“How do you feel?”).” By comparing performance to expected outcomes using remarkable embedded technology and AI, we can achieve better, precise follow-up and feedback for patients, while also improving insights and workflow for clinical teams.
