Here's another project we are proud to be supporting Brightside Community Homes Foundation on: The Hawthorn, consisting of 100 units of affordable housing units in Vancouver’s Marpole neighbourhood. The Hawthorn redevelopment was initiated in response to a vision of building and fostering resilient communities for those who are struggling to meet the demands of market housing. Previously a 46 unit three-storey building built in 1964, this project is geared towards independent-living seniors, families and people with disabilities. The design is intended to optimize opportunities for community connectedness and aging in place by incorporating accessible design. The building is targeting Passive House certification to create livable units (notable features include energy efficiency and thermal comfort) and enhance the quality of life for all residents. From rezoning in 2020 to the final stretches of construction today, Colliers has been the Owner’s Representative and Development Manager for this project, working alongside the Architecture team at Integra Architecture Inc. and Construction Management team VanMar Constructors BC Inc. #AffordableHousing #PassiveHouse #DevelopmentAdvisory
