Why Mondays Are Hard and 8 Ways to Make Them More Productive Sunday scaries no more... It's not uncommon for people to have a bad case of the Mondays. Considering that 70 percent of people hate or are "completely disengaged" from their job, this only makes Mondays even worse. Here's 8 ways to help you through the "Monday Blues" 💠 Identify the problem. It's a way of empowering you to take charge and try to improve the situation. 💠 Plan ahead. One of the most effective ways to prevent a "Manic Monday" is to plan ahead. Believe it or not, if you plan your Monday on the Friday.. it'll be easier to start your week. ( little trick I've been using for years). Call it your "Sunday Hour Of Power" and get organized! 💠Start the week on the right foot. Instead of grabbing your phone as soon as your eyes open, take a deep breath, and practice mindfulness. I've been told to do for years, never believed in it.. until I started doing it... magic happens.. ☺️ 💠 Create and stick to a routine. A daily routine keeps us in check. Otherwise, we'll go through each day without purpose. 💠 Lighten your workload. Ease your way into the workweek. Create theme days for each day of the week ( works for Jack Dorsey.. just sayin') 💠 Socialize, but also protect your time. One of the best ways to cure a case of the Mondays is to bond with your tribe at work 💠 Schedule something fun. Have something to look forward 💠 Change your mindset about Monday. What you feed your brain, is what dictates what you think, what you do, how you do it, and how you show up. Happy Monday To All! #MondayPerspective #MondayStarts #Inspiration #MindSet #NewOutlook

Blessed is the one who strives against their own selfishness, they will taste in its fullness the joy of accomplishment..” - James Allen Demand and continue to strive after better things, greater excellence..then... almost suddenly, the angel of joy will meet you at your footsteps God's grace is closer than you think.. and yours for the asking... #CommitToExcellence

Reflections & Reminders of What’s Most Important Three huge, colorful Post-it notes hung on my wall this year. I saw them all day, every day, right above my desk. On each one was an audacious goal for 2024. As 2024 is nearing to a close, I – like you – pause to reflect on the past year to get ready for the one ahead. I am grateful for the fantastic year I had, but I have to admit that I did not fully achieve any of the three goals I set. Yet, by virtue of having set them, I took huge strides toward them and now their achievement is realistically in sight for 2025. Reminders of some very important lessons: 🔷There is no replacement for a true personal connection 🔷The power of Super Connectors is real (if you meet one, don't let go!) 🔷 Start by Picking Yourself ( notice the upper case letters here 🙂 ) 🔷 Nothing happens without accountability and action. 🔷 Perseverance. We often lose sight or stop believing in these five things because our self-imposed urgency to get things done. Take time for your own reflections in the months to come. I hope you will join me for an exciting 2025 as we keep what is most important in mind! Have an Amazing Friday! #FridayThoughts #PrepForBetterAndMore #Inspiration #YouAreFirst #Agency

With Goals, FAST Beats SMART To execute strategy, leaders must set ambitious targets, translate them into specific metrics and milestones, make them transparent throughout the organization, and discuss progress frequently. The conventional wisdom of goal setting is so deeply ingrained that managers rarely stop to ask a fundamental question — does it work? The traditional approach to goals — the annual cycle, privately set and reviewed goals, and a strong linkage to incentives — can actually undermine the alignment, coordination, and agility that’s needed for a company to execute its strategy. Research has shown that four core principles underpin effective goal systems, and are summarized as the elements with the acronym FAST. 🔴 F= frequent discussions 🔴 A = ambitious in scope 🔴 S = measured by specific metrics 🔴 T = transparent for everyone in the organization to see Goals are a powerful tool to drive strategy execution. To harness their potential, leaders must move beyond the conventional wisdom of SMART goals and their entrenched practices. Instead, they need to think in terms of being FAST, by having frequent discussions about goals, setting ambitious targets, translating them into specific metrics and milestones, and making them public for everyone to see. #WednesdayWisdom #WednesdayCoaching #WednesdayInspiration #Goals #FAST

Outside Leadership Can Save the Family Business The Scots say, “The father buys, the son builds, the grandchild sells, and his son begs.” The family enterprise needs a disciplined recruiting process designed to find experienced talent ideally suited to fill the role. One added caveat: they must be the kind of person looking to develop younger leaders around them—including members of the family that owns the business. Here is how to find the next generation Leaders: 🔺 Be real about what the business needs and how the new hire can help achieve it. 🔺 Run a full search process, interviewing 4-8 of the best candidates to understand available talent and their skill levels. Be methodical and objective. 🔺 Hire the best candidate, whether that’s from the inside or outside, based on their career history, their interview, their assessment results and the needs of the business at present and in the next few years. 🔺 If family members fall short in the process, clearly identify the gaps in their skills/experience, and hire them in a lower role with a disciplined development program that expedites their development. 🔺 Recognize that some family members care deeply about the business but are more interested in being a steward (i.e. a good owner) of a family asset (the business) rather than a manager of that business. Changes in a family business require a courageous leap for enterprises accustomed to being led and managed only by family members. The first step forward is for family members to realize they must take a step backward. #WednesdayWisdom #WednesdayThoughts #MindSet #DoTheRightThing #BringBusinessToNewLevels
