BIG NEWS: The World Bank has agreed to support the development of our Climate-Related Disclosures Standard. This standard will be our inaugural Sustainability Reporting Standard (IPSASB SRS™) and will enable governments and other public sector entities to make more informed decisions about their contributions towards addressing the climate emergency, hold them accountable for their interventions, and foster trust in their efforts. Equipping governments with the quality standards necessary to report on their critical contributions to addressing the climate emergency together with other sustainability issues requires global engagement. Thank you to the World Bank for your support. 🌱 Our first draft of the Climate-Related Disclosures Standard is on track to release in September. https://lnkd.in/eJvQeNNJ #sustainabilityreporting #publicsector #IPSASB

Out now: We've issued a draft for your feedback on Tangible Natural Resources, all naturally occurring items with physical substance which embody service potential or the capability to generate future economic benefits. Many governments lack information on the extent and value of tangible natural resources. ED 92 proposes recognition, measurement, presentation and disclosure guidance to address this gap. Submit your comments by February 28, 2024.

📆 Last week, the IPSASB attended the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Regional Public Sector Accounting Forum, hosted by Helen Hall. 🤝 We engaged with stakeholders on a variety of subjects, and obtained feedback on ED 92, Natural Resources, and IPSASB SRS ED 1, Climate-related Disclosures. The discussions were engaging and informative for IPSASB representatives, and the 19 ADB member countries in attendance. Nor Yati Ahmad, Sung-Jin Park, and Rasmimi Ramli provided excellent support during the roundtable discussions. Be sure to follow our page to read the EDs once they are published later this month! 🔜
