⚠️ Les jeunes hommes qui vapotent pourraient être plus à risque de développer des maladies cardiaques  ⚠️ Deux nouvelles études examinent les effets du vapotage à l’adolescence sur les poumons et le cœur « Dans les deux études, les changements au niveau des poumons et du cœur concernaient principalement les mâles, ce qui suggère que le vapotage pourrait avoir un impact disproportionné sur les hommes. Cela soulève d’importantes inquiétudes pour la santé future des jeunes hommes qui vapotent actuellement », dit Carolyn Baglole, scientifique au sein du programme de recherche translationnelle sur les maladies respiratoires (RESP) de l’IR-CUSM et co-auteure principale des deux études. 🔬 Vincenza Caruana, première auteure de l'étude publiée dans Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology et doctorante dans le laboratoire de la professeure Baglole, et Sofia Paoli première auteure de l'étude publiée dans BMJ Open Respiratory Research et stagiaire à l’IR-CUSM au moment de l’étude, ont également joué un rôle clé dans ces travaux. This raises serious concerns for their future health,” says Carolyn Baglole, a Scientist in the Translational Research in Respiratory Diseases Program (RESP) at the RI-MUHC and co-senior author of both studies. 🔬 Vincenza Caruana, first author of the study published in Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology and a PhD student in Prof. Baglole’s lab, and Sofia Paoli, first author of the study published in BMJ Open Respiratory Research and a trainee at the RI-MUHC at the time of the research, also played key roles in these findings.
