ISCT celebrates a significant legal victory in the fight to protect the public from unregulated cell and gene therapies. In a major ruling, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit sided with the U.S. FDA, reversing a previous decision in U.S. v. California Stem Cell Treatment Center, Inc. confirming the U.S. FDA’s authority to regulate cell therapies. ISCT contributed its scientific expertise to this outcome by filing an amicus brief in support of the government’s appeal in June 2024.
