World Mental Health Day 2024 has left us feeling incredibly inspired. Let’s talk about it 💙 Yesterday, we were honoured to participate in Bell Let's Talk’s youth mental health panel. One of our Jack Talks Speakers, Isaiah Neil, bravely spoke about his experiences with mental distress and the transformative power of education and community. Thank you to the youth panelists and to Isaiah Neil for shining a light on this urgent challenge youth are facing. Our deepest gratitudes go out to Mary Deacon, Chair and Founder of Bell Let’s Talk, for everything she’s done to champion mental health on the national scale and for bringing us in yesterday alongside Integrated Youth Services, Kids Help Phone, National Association of Friendship Centres | Association nationale des Centres d'amitié, Strongest Families Institute and Fondation Jeunes En Tête. Collaborative conversations like these are so vital for carving a path forward. We can’t wait to keep working together for maximal impact in the years to come! We encourage everyone to stay informed on the current state of this issue and the path towards positive change by checking out Mental Health Research Canada’s latest report, “A Generation at Risk: The State of Youth Mental Health in Canada” at https://lnkd.in/eBCk2uSe The numbers are clear: young people are struggling and it’s only through more prevention efforts, improved access, and quality services that we’ll transform that reality. Today and every day, let’s remember to check in with ourselves and our peers, and take action for a kinder, happier world for the generations to come 🌎

Bell Let’s Talk marked World Mental Health Day with an event focused on youth mental health. Six youth mental health organizations collaborated in the creation of a paper entitled “A Generation at Risk: The State of Youth Mental Health in Canada.” Integrated Youth Services, Jack.org, Kids Help Phone, National Association of Friendship Centres, Strongest Families Institute and Youth In Mind Foundation are helping ensure our youth have easy access to prevention, early intervention and treatment in community settings. Melissa Grelo, co-host of The Social, moderated a panel featuring six youth with lived experience from across the country. A huge shout out to James, Isaiah, Kiersten, Averi, Thomas, and Hannah for bringing the state of youth mental health to life through their personal stories. I am confident that todays youth will be the change that will ensure that everyone in Canada will be able to get the help they need and to flourish in all aspects of their lives, contributing to their communities and to the economic prosperity of our country. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the 15th Annual Bell Let’s Talk Day - January 22, 2025 - where we will launch a special text to donate campaign for youth mental health, as we continue to encourage all Canadians to take action to create positive change.
