Feel-Good Friday News ✨ Junior Achievement of Prince Edward Island hosted their Gala where they also held a Company Program selling event. Long after the event ended, a group of dedicated JA Company Program students from Super Shaker remained fully set up, waiting for someone special. The Premier had mentioned he would return to buy a product, and they patiently stayed behind for him. Fast forward and here sits their product on his desk. A perfect example of how extra effort and patience truly pay off! 🌟

Empowering Future Leaders with Financial Literacy! Along with CIBC we have empowered over 9,700 youth through the National Development support for our Economics For Success program, helping them transition from high school to post-secondary life. 🎓💼 These students learn the benefits of staying in school and what it takes to succeed in today's workforce, guided by a force of amazing CIBC volunteers. “It’s about self-discovery,” says Marianne Grimaldi, a CIBC volunteer. “Students have many ‘a-ha moments’ about budgeting and planning for their future.” 💡💰 Read more about our innovative financial health efforts and our partnership with CIBC in the Globe and Mail: https://lnkd.in/grbPAjCj

As we bid farewell to Dawn de Lima as Board Chair, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for her 9 years of dedication and service to JA Canada. Dawn’s leadership guided the organization through significant growth and renewed strategic direction while maintaining effective governance and fiscal oversight. From all of us at JA, we deeply appreciate her contributions to JA’s mission of inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. With this farewell, we are also pleased to announce and welcome Dawn’s successor. With this farewell, we are also pleased to announce a warm welcome. On behalf of the JA Canada Board of Directors, we are excited to announce that Gary Kalaci has been appointed as the new Board Chair. Gary brings a wealth of JA experience, having served on the JA Americas and JA Canada Boards, as well as previously serving as Ontario Regional Representative. In 2002, Gary founded Alexa Translations. Recognizing a gap in the translation market for high-quality services, he established a company that would become a leader in the industry. Alexa Translations has since pioneered the use of A.I. technology and today, combines that innovative technology with human expertise to break language barriers for businesses worldwide. We are delighted to welcome Gary into the position of JA Board Chair. With his extensive experience and visionary approach, we are confident that he will continue to drive JA’s mission forward, inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. We're excited to have you, Gary!

Teacher Spotlight from JA in Saskatchewan ✨ Margot has been teaching for 23 years as of June 2024. She has taught Entrepreneurship since 2002 and incorporated the JA Company Program into her Ent. 30 class since 2014! Margot has supported/mentored 25 Junior Achievement companies--this semester was her last and 25th company. 🌟 When asked if she had any words of wisdom for those who may be thinking of supporting the JA Company Program in their classroom, she said: "I believe the Junior Achievement program is invaluable. It is a 'real life' hands-on class where students repeatedly say it was their best class in high school. I encourage my students to not only make a profit, but to make a difference! 10% of their company profits must be donated to a charity/non-profit of the company’s choice. To date, without the 25th company’s donation, the WCS Junior Achievement program has donated $17,625.47 back to charities and non-profits." Read more from her interview here: https://lnkd.in/dfrjtyk2 A huge thank you to Margot for her time and dedication to the JA Company Program!
