Kebaonish promotes a good life and a good mind, so we can once again find harmony in the world.

About us

Kebaonish Inc. is an Indigenous-owned beverage company headquartered in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Ontario. Kebaonish acknowledges the interconnectedness between individuals and the environment. We want to help restore lost connections between people, land and water that have resulted in the degradation of our planet and the loss of our cultural heritage. Inspired by the spirit of relationships, Kebaonish embodies a state of being that unites people through stories. We honour the interactions that define us as citizens of Mother Earth and respect ecological rhythms so we can dance together to the heartbeat of our planet in harmony. We believe that by promoting responsibility and accountability in our actions and living in harmony with people and the planet, we can create a better future for ourselves and future generations. This is why Kebaonish wants to bring people together over coffee, tea, or hot chocolate to share stories and promote balance in physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health using the Indigenous principles of Mino Bimaadiziwin and Gikendassowin. Mino Bimaadiziwin is an Anishinaabe concept that means "the good life" or "the good way of living," emphasizing the importance of balance and harmony with oneself, others, and the environment. Gikendassowin means "having a good mind" or "thinking in a good way," involving reason, logic, and intuition to make wise decisions and take responsible actions. We celebrate the art of a good story over a great cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, creating an all-encompassing moment that brings us closer to a life of better health and well-being. By honouring the spirit of Indigenous knowledge and worldview, Kebaonish promotes a good life and a sound mind, so we can once again find harmony in the world, and it all starts with a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Come and be part of a grand story yet to be told.

Demoing our products at Summerhill Market locations across the GTA has been an invaluable opportunity to connect directly with our Kebaonish Inc. customers. Not only have we learned about how they experience the taste of our unique blends, but we've also gained insight into how they perceive our brand. Through these interactions, we realized that our name, Kebaonish—meaning the warmth of returning home—and our Indigenous roots weren't as immediately clear as we'd hoped. This feedback inspired us to take a fresh look at our packaging design. With a new batch of bags in the pipeline, we decided to enhance the artwork to better communicate our identity and heritage. We're excited to showcase updated designs that highlight our cultural background and introduce customers to the art of Mohawk artist Melissa Brant, whose work on our packaging embodies the essence of Kebaonish: interconnectedness, community, and a commitment to a better future for all. At Kebaonish, we are committed to continuous improvement, both in our products and in how we present our story. We look forward to sharing this next evolution with you, as every detail of our brand speaks to a deeper commitment to quality, culture, and respect for the land that inspires us. #Demo #Indigenous #Packaging #Learning #Improvement
