#TeamUIS has successfully conducted underwater surveys with our NEPTUNE Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV). Integrated with Kraken Robotics' Miniature Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Sonar (MINSAS 120), our highly stable NEPTUNE AUV can obtain sonar images with 3.3 cm x 3.0 cm constant resolution, along with a simultaneous 6 cm x 6 cm coregistered bathymetry.   Overlaying the sonar and bathymetric maps produces a detailed 3D picture of the seabed, allowing users to appreciate the terrain and seabed objects even if they are not trained to read sonar images.   Curious about what we see underwater? Boulders buried within the seabed can significantly delay cable installation projects in post-glacial regions like NW Europe, the Baltics, and NE USA. These delays often lead to increased project costs due to variation orders based on unforeseen soil conditions. Additionally, shallow cable burial caused by boulders heightens the risk to subsea cables from other sea users and mobile sediments. Kraken Robotics' Sub-Bottom Imager™ (SBI) is a game-changer in addressing these challenges. Our 3D acoustic survey sensor has collected thousands of kilometers of high-resolution 3D sub-seabed data, pinpointing buried boulders within the upper 5m of the seabed, with diameters >0.2m. To date, the SBI has supported numerous global projects and identified over 100,000 buried boulders, making it the most reliable survey sensor for offshore construction. By providing a clear understanding of sub-seabed conditions, the SBI enables the development of precise cable routes that avoid geohazards. This ensures that trenching methodologies and schedules are accurately planned, leading to timely and cost-effective cable installations. Discover how the Sub-Bottom Imager can enhance your underwater survey operations. Kraken Robotics is proud to showcase the Sub-Bottom Imager™ (SBI), a groundbreaking tool in underwater surveying technology. The SBI leverages advanced acoustic technology and state-of-the-art beamforming synthetic aperture sonar arrays to provide real-time 3D imaging beneath the seabed. This innovative technology delivers unparalleled accuracy and usability. With the capability to continuously capture 6 m wide data swaths and penetrate up to 8 m below the seabed, the SBI identifies buried objects, anomalies, geohazards, and stratigraphy with a remarkable 10 cm resolution. The SBI's flexibility allows it to be deployed on multiple platforms for diverse sub-seabed survey requirements, supporting projects in water depths ranging from 4 m to 500 m. The SBI ROV mount is adaptable to fit all work-class ROVs, and custom skids are available for lighter ROVs. Discover how the Sub-Bottom Imager can enhance your underwater survey operations. At Kraken Robotics, we're pushing the boundaries of underwater imaging technology with our Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS). A significant advantage of SAS over traditional side scan sonar (SSS) lies in its superior resolution and range, particularly in terms of along-track and across-track resolution.    𝗔𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is a critical factor in image clarity. Traditional SSS systems depend on physical array lengths to determine along-track resolution, often resulting in limitations. SAS, however, synthesizes a larger array from multiple pings, enhancing along-track resolution significantly without being constrained by physical size. This innovation leads to higher fidelity images, enabling more detailed and accurate analysis of underwater objects and environments.    𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is determined by the frequency and beamwidth of the sonar system. While both SSS and SAS can achieve high across-track resolution, SAS maintains this high resolution over a greater range due to its advanced signal processing capabilities. This ability to extend range without sacrificing resolution is crucial for conducting efficient and comprehensive underwater surveys.    Kraken Robotics' SAS technology represents a significant leap forward in underwater imaging, offering unmatched clarity and detail that are essential for advanced marine exploration and security operations.    To learn more about SAS: https://lnkd.in/e9PsA97w   Contact us at: sales@krakenrobotics.com    #KrakenRobotics #KATFISH #SyntheticApertureSonar #SAS #MineCounterMeasure #MCM #MarineDefense #MineWarfare #MW #Navy

Kraken Robotics is excited to highlight KATFISH™, a high-speed, actively stabilized Synthetic Aperture Sonar towfish designed for optimal performance. Operating at speeds up to 10 knots, KATFISH™ significantly increases Area Coverage Rates (ACR) compared to slower-moving ROVs, unstabilized towed sidescan sonar, and AUVs. This high-speed capability reduces both operating time and costs. The system delivers unparalleled high-resolution ACR of up to 3.5 km²/hr with a constant resolution of 3.3 cm x 3.0 cm across ranges up to 200 meters per side, along with simultaneous 3D bathymetry. With post-processing, an even finer imagery resolution of 2.1 cm x 1.9 cm is achievable. Equipped with Kraken’s latest generation Real-Time SAS processor (RTSAS), KATFISH enables real-time processing of SAS imagery and bathymetry. The availability of onboard Automatic Target Detection allows survey data and contacts to be viewed directly on the ship as they are collected, or remotely from a mothership or shore-based command station. Discover how KATFISH can revolutionize your underwater mine countermeasure operations and offshore surveys. The Acoustic Corer’s role in the Hudson River Ground Stabilization (HRGS) Project is crucial. This project, awarded to Weeks Marine, Inc., is the first heavy construction contract by the Gateway Development Commission (GDC) on the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). The HRGS Project aims to stabilize the riverbed in 1,200 feet of the shallow area on the Manhattan side of the Hudson River to ensure the Tunnel Boring Machine can excavate the new tunnel while protecting the riverbed from disruption. This is a significant step for Kraken Robotics towards the successful completion of this project. More on this project - https://bit.ly/3OmXPp4

Kraken Robotics took part in the HII Unmanned Systems REMUS UUV User Group Meeting in Portsmouth, UK, 17-18 July 2024. Our team, represented by Dan Sweeney and Roland Leyte, had the privilege of presenting the Man-Portable Synthetic Aperture Sonar (MP-SAS) to REMUS users, observers, and industry representatives.    This gathering brought together national representatives alongside industry partners, focusing on the technical development, trials, and operations of the REMUS series of Uncrewed Underwater Vehicles (UUVs). We also discussed Kraken's recent integrations and operations with NATO partners. Our MP-SAS delivers high resolution synthetic aperture sonar with a range up to 118 meters per side. With real-time processing of 3 cm x 3 cm resolution across track (and up to 2 cm x 2 cm with post-processing), MP-SAS provides some of the highest resolution imagery you can get from a UUV, which is of critical importance to high-stakes applications like mine countermeasures.   Learn more about our SAS at: https://lnkd.in/e9PsA97w   #KrakenRobotics #SyntheticApertureSonar #SAS #MPSAS #REMUS #UUV #MineCounterMeasure #MarineDefense
