Today, we proudly hosted the Government of Alberta, Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) and Alberta Recycling Management Authority (ARMA) at our Exshaw cement plant, where the province announced new programs to drive responsible energy management. At Lafarge, we have long been committed to sustainability. With previous support, we are exploring carbon capture and sequestration, have implemented high-efficiency upgrades at our operations, and constructed our new Low-Carbon Fuel Facility, announced earlier this month. We’re thrilled to see the ongoing investment in industry to innovate and consider new technology, which are critical factors in advancing low-carbon solutions. These funding opportunities empower us to accelerate our efforts to reduce emissions and contribute to a more sustainable future. #BuildingProgress #Sustainability #LowCarbon #CementPlant #LafargeCanada

As we celebrate Canada's Women's History Month, we're proud to highlight the incredible stories of women shaping our industry. Meet Jemma Moore, Reserve and Mining Manager at Lafarge Canada, whose path to success is a testament to perseverance, passion, and breaking the mould. From her early school days at an all-girls grammar school in the UK, Jemma knew the traditional path wasn't for her. After exploring multiple career options—starting with a degree in International Business Management and working on major iron ore projects in Australia—she discovered her true passion in geology, prompting her to pursue a second degree in the field. Since joining Lafarge, Jemma has made a significant impact, from leading critical projects to being recognized as one of Rock to Road's Top 10 Under 40. "I'm proud to be building a competent team at Lafarge to assist in the long-term strategies of the business. My latest achievement is helping lead a project task, which should have taken over 12 months, but we managed to pull it off in two, thanks to the fantastic teams around me!" Jemma’s journey also underscores the importance of representation. She shares, "Visual leadership is important in creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace for women of all backgrounds. Seeing women in all positions across the company encourages more women to feel comfortable in all positions." With her determination and the support of a strong team and mentors, Jemma is not only helping shape the future of Lafarge but also making her mark on the industry as a whole. #BuildersOfProgress #WomensHistoryMonth #LafargeCanada

Every tire counts when it comes to protecting our environment. 🌊 Over the past week, our teams joined Aqua Sub Terra, led by explorer Nath Lasselin, to clean up the St. Lawrence River at the Beauharnois marina in Quebec. Together with Geocycle North America, we helped remove hundreds of scrap tires that had been polluting the river for over 30 years, reusing them as an energy source for our cement production. We’re proud to be part of this impactful initiative, contributing to cleaner water and a healthier future. 💚 #Sustainability #Community #LafargeCanada #Geocycle #BuildingProgress

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we’re taking a moment to recognize the journey of the Women in Lafarge Leadership Committee (WILL) affinity group in Eastern Canada. 👭🏼👷♀️ Founded four years ago, WILL began as an initiative to create an inclusive, supportive space for women at Lafarge. Today, they continue to lead important conversations, host impactful events, and champion gender diversity in our organization; all in line with this year’s theme: "Women at Work: Economic Growth Past, Present, and Future. A huge thank you to our founding members, Lisa Defoe. Marie-Andrée Guindon and Jennifer Bolibruch, P.Eng, for their dedication and leadership. Together, we’re #buildingprogress. 👏 #WomensHistoryMonth #LafargeCanada #GenderDiversity #Leadership

A quick look at our BMQ volumetric truck in action! 🚚 Recently, we delivered ChronoMax Rapid Set Concrete to a road repair project in Hamilton. ChronoMax provides a minimum of 20 MPa in just 3 hours, with ultimate strengths reaching 35 MPa or more, allowing important infrastructure to return to service quickly. Placed at 10:30 am and back in service by 2:00 pm; that’s how we keep traffic moving and minimize downtime for industrial areas. That’s the power of rapid repair! Lafarge is proud to announce the commissioning of our state-of-the-art Low-Carbon Fuel (LCF) facility at the Exshaw cement plant. The facility will replace up to 50% of natural gas used for one of its kilns with low-carbon alternatives, diverting up to 120,000 tonnes of CDW from landfills and reducing CO2 emissions by as much as 30,000 tonnes annually. This project, supported by the Government of Canada’s Low Carbon Economy Fund and grants from the Province of Alberta, is a key step in our sustainability journey, helping position Exshaw as one of the most carbon-efficient cement plants in Canada.
