Emotional connection to Strategy produces superior results. As this HBR article points out, involving the whole organization, and making sure that people can see the organization's Strategy in their daily work, is critical to executing it with excellence: '- Are you diligently following through on what you have decided? You need to be very clear about what the strategy is and what it takes to succeed—and to communicate it so that everyone in the organization understands what they should be doing. - Are there visible programs (for example specific new technologies, new processes, or training programs) to build the key capabilities your organization needs to win with its strategy? - Are you building specific connections between strategy and the budgeting process so you’re reallocating funds to where they matter most? And do you have mechanisms in place that translate the strategy into personal goals and rewards for managers and employees?' As we often say to Clients, Strategy without execution is poetry. If you are interested in finding out more about how we can help you create and execute growth Strategies, please reach out to: Drew Munro, CMC, ICP-ACC, C.Dir., Principal, drew.munro@leadforgrowth.com, (416) 220-7379, or Kimberly Rowan, CEC, Principal, kim.rowan@leadforgrowth.com, (905) 965-2480. We often say that high performing teams develop great strategies, and great strategies are executed by high performing teams. As CCL (the Center for Creative Leadership) point out in this article, https://lnkd.in/gvdK7XE: '1) Being a strategic leader means having the ability to make common sense of a situation, no matter how complex and ambiguous the conditions 2) An effective strategic leader sees the organization as interdependent and interconnected, so that actions and decisions in one part of the organization are undertaken with their impact on other parts of the organization in mind 3) The strategic leader operates with a far-reaching timetable, integrating short-term results and a long-term focus 4) The strategic leader is often a driver of organizational change' "Being a strategic leader involves discovering the few key things that your organization needs to do well and can do well in order to differentiate yourself from competitors. Discovery takes discipline and a commitment to continuous learning throughout the organization." If you are interested in finding out more about how we can help you build growth strategies, and high performing teams, please reach out to: Drew Munro, CMC, ICP-ACC, C.Dir., Principal, drew.munro@leadforgrowth.com, (416) 220-7379, or Kimberly Rowan, CEC, Principal, kim.rowan@leadforgrowth.com, (905) 965-2480. Today, as we mark #WorldMentalHealthDay, it’s a timely reminder that mental health in the workplace is not just a wellness issue—it’s a culture issue. A healthy organizational culture should create safe spaces where employees feel empowered to speak up about their mental health, seek support, and prioritize their well-being without stigma. Leaders have a responsibility to foster environments that promote open dialogue around mental health. This starts with creating a culture that prioritizes psychological safety, emotional intelligence, and empathy. Let’s continue to advocate for mental health in our workplaces, making it as important as any other business priority. A thriving workforce begins with a healthy mind. What does your company do to foster a culture where mental health matters? We would love to hear from you as sharing best practices is the best way to make this happen!!!! #MentalHealthMatters #EvolveHR2024 #WorkplaceCulture #WellbeingAtWork #CultureMatters

Looking forward to the insights and best practices Kimberly Rowan, CEC and Vivianne Bridgeman, MBA, CEC bring back from the Western Cities Evolve HR conference this week.

💥 1 Day to Go! 💥 Vivianne Bridgeman, MBA, CEC and I are gearing up for the Western Cities Evolve HR conference this week in Calgary. We couldn’t be more excited! We will be leading an interactive breakout session on Accountability—a word and topic that is widely misunderstood in the world of work. Here's a nugget....Accountability is not something we can do to people as they need to be internally motivated to take accountability and showcase ownership. But what can we do? We can create the right conditions around them in our cultures. Looking forward to sharing insights and experiences with all of the HR professionals and leaders this week!  #EvolveHR2024 #Accountability #Leadership #Culture

Excellent article in Forbes magazine on the under-rated leadership skill of intellectual curiosity. 'Terms like leadership, innovation, and strategic thinking dominate the conversation, while curiosity remains largely in the background, seen as an intellectual luxury rather than a business necessity.' Yet curiosity drives higher levels of innovation, competitive edge, problem solving, and collaboration. It sits behind many vital leadership competencies, and we are seeing our Clients focus more on its value in hiring, promotion, and succession. Seems obvious...ask more questions, ask better questions, be curious about how to improve... 'It’s also important to embrace the mindset of a lifelong learner. This means staying open to new ideas and perspectives, even if they challenge your current way of thinking.' #LEADforGrowth #LeadershipDevelopment #IntellectualCuriosity https://lnkd.in/gpAC3RNs

Wynford's AGM today was an opportunity to bring their team together for learning and growth. One of the events in a long term Program of helping them build a #wynning team. Managing vibrant culture in a changing industry, and increasingly driven by technology change. In an accelerating VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world, project management, effective communication, giving and receiving feedback, and prioritization has never been more important. It was great to share some of that journey with this team. We love working in changing and evolving cultures, and helping organizations build winning teams in change. Thank you Cate Banfield, CIS, CITP and Kim M., for getting us involved in supporting you. As Canadians, today we come together to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. In schools, workplaces and communities across the country, we wear orange – a meaningful gesture to demonstrate our steadfast support for the reconciliation journey, and for every child and family tragically impacted by the residential school system, past, present and future.
