I spent so many years avoiding being seen. 👀 Public speaking? Definitely not something I thought I’d embrace. I was always hyper-aware of how I showed up, convinced that being noticed meant being judged. That feeling of not being "enough" held me back for years, keeping me in the shadows. 🎤 But last Thursday in Victoria, I stood on stage at Engaged - Transforming Workplaces DisruptHR and delivered a talk called “𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝐿𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝐴𝑟𝑒𝑛’𝑡 𝑇𝑜𝑙𝑑 𝐴𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑆𝑢𝑐𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠”. It’s been a journey to move from fear to confidence, and this transformation came through a commitment, an investment, to the inner work - retraining my brain, clearing the patterns that kept me stuck, and learning how to embrace my own voice. Now, stepping onto stages feels natural. Honestly - I blacked out I was in such flow, Thursday. 🤣 It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being real and sharing what it's my heart. My talk explored the challenges leaders face today: balancing results with building a resilient, engaged, and thriving team culture, especially with Gen Y and Gen Z. I dove into the often-overlooked dimension of nervous system fitness and how it impacts leadership presence, team performance, profitability, and organizational well-being. It’s time for a culture shift - where success doesn’t come at the cost of well-being but instead thrives because of it. ❓ I left the audience with a question... Keep doing what you’re doing 𝑂𝑅 choose to work with the gift of your nervous system. What’s it going to be? 👉🏼 Stay tuned for the recording of my DisruptHR talk. ➕ 𝑯𝑼𝑮𝑬 thanks to the incredible DisruptHR Victoria team for creating such a welcoming, beautiful curated, and inspiring experience. The connection made with the fabulous fellow speakers I’ll hold onto deeply!! Celebrating everyone's courage and talk 🎉 #DisruptHR #DisruptHRVictoria #DisruptHRYYJ #futureofHR #neuroscience #resilience #hr #leadershipdevelopment

I can hardly believe it 😮 We're just a little over a month away from this year’s DisruptHR Victoria Engaged - Transforming Workplaces event! Last month, I was thrilled to learn I’d been selected as a speaker for DisruptHR, and since then, colleagues and clients have asked ⤵: “How are you preparing to speak to a group of 400?” 🤷🏼♀️ The same way I prepared for the 100+ audience earlier this year. I start with 𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 - getting detailed about how I want to feel on stage, how I want to be received, imagining the expressions on people's faces as they engage with the talk, and envisioning the feedback I'll receive. It’s all about immersing myself in a detailed experience before it even happens. And then, of course, it’s all about 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙨, 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙨, 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙨 of the 5-min ted-talk style talk itself: “What Leaders Aren't Told About Success.” 🙏🏼 My first DisruptHR experience in Seattle this year was incredibly fun, and I’m honoured to have the opportunity to speak again at DisruptHR Victoria. Remember, our lives are shaped by the images we create in our minds. When you direct your attention and imagination with intention, incredible things can happen. So, what are you giving your attention to today? Are you available on October 17th? I'd love to meet you in person. I’ve learned to make decisions based on the knowing I feel in my body, even when it goes against logic or strategy. It’s about trusting myself, my desires, and fully backing my choices. There’s no perfect decision - only the one you commit to, which becomes a direct path from where you are now to where you want to be. ⁉ How often have you made decisions that seem perfect on paper, only to still feel stuck or unfulfilled? What if the key is to use your mind as a guide but not the only authority? As a leader, have you ever felt uninspired in your role? Maybe you’ve considered a shift - to lead with more heart or to start a venture that aligns with your core values - but quickly dismissed it because it didn’t seem "logical." 👀 Or perhaps you’ve built success through hard work and dedication, yet now you crave a new level of impact. You want to work smarter, not harder, and create this same approach for your team. By blending neuroscience-backed strategies with intuitive leadership, you can make decisions that align with both logic and what feels right. This balance leads to greater impact and effectiveness, all without sacrificing your well-being or peace of mind. 🏔 August has been a time of some BIG personal and professional decisions. Here's one of my favourite spots to come to centre and align myself. 💬 What choices have you been navigating lately? “You really change the way people feel and think. I’ve never had someone challenge me without judgment or trying to force a "right" answer on me. This is shattering my reality in the best way.” 👆🏼That's what a new 1:1 client said to me with emotion last week as we concluded our session. There’s no greater pleasure for me than to coach people and hold space for them to go deep and challenge their feelings and thoughts. I’ve often found myself squirming out of discomfort and rushing through life, avoiding the full spectrum of my emotions. But each time I sidestep the present moment, I miss out on connection – with myself, with others, and with the world around me. That’s why I’ve made a lifelong commitment to embodiment, slowing down, and tuning inward. 🙏🏻 It’s about greeting every part of myself with a "hello, I see you, I hear you, I’m here for you." Through this practice, I’ve discovered the most beautiful gift – a sense of home and centre within my body. It’s where my resilience, truth, wisdom, safety, and Wild Inner Knowing reside. The real shift isn’t about changing who you are; it's about changing how you relate to who you are. 📿 Take meditation. Often, when people explore the practice of meditation, they have a skewed perception of its purpose. They think it's wrong to have constant thoughts and no silence. But meditation is a space to simply connect, declutter, and notice. 💬 When you notice a thought, what’s the feeling? 💬 Are you contracting or expanding with that thought? A lot can begin to arise within when you notice. This is why we stretch our nervous systems (safely) to fully feel the emotions that have been stored in the body for years. That’s where the transformation happens. The old coping mechanisms soften, and we become more resilient and grounded. In my approach, healing and rewiring the nervous system is the key to a fully lived life. 🔥 How I Can Help: I partner with senior leaders and leadership teams to cultivate peak well-being and a 1% culture, unlocking increased productivity and revenue while retaining your team for twice as long! An 8-hour workday is a misconception. 🤫 Don’t believe me? Achieving in 15-minutes what used to take an entire day is not just possible - it's happening for my clients. One recently shared their breakthrough: by addressing mindset and integrating neuro-exercises, they've enhanced productivity and well-being. 💡 Think about it: turning a full day of work into a mere fraction of the time means more than efficiency. It means reclaiming hours for what truly matters - whether that’s diving deeper into strategic planning, nurturing key relationships, or simply enjoying more personal time without the weight of work hanging over you. Implementing systems that cater to individual strengths can yield remarkable results. Just ask #HewlettPackard about their Neurodiversity Cultivation Program. 😏 Studies show teams working in ways natural to them experience 33% higher productivity compared to traditional approaches. Supporting people in ways that align with their natural strengths rather than what's easiest for those who designed the systems is key. This shift isn't just about working smarter; it's about creating a sustainable, high-performance environment where success flows naturally. Imagine achieving more while working less - both professionally and personally. 💭 How could reclaiming hours of your day transform your professional and personal life? ⤵ How I can help: I partner with senior leaders and leadership teams to cultivate peak well-being and a 1% culture, unlocking increased productivity and revenue while retaining your team for twice as long! If you want a culture of psychological safety, you need to look at how the environment supports an individual’s physiology. Here’s my 🧠 approach in how to make it happen: 1️⃣ Acknowledge Every Body: Start by understanding what each team member needs to feel grounded, reassured, and safe. This is the foundation of your culture. 2️⃣ Create Safe Interactions: Foster interactions that collectively support these needs. 3️⃣ Ask the Right Questions: What can you do to help your own physiology move out of feeling anxious, being afraid, or angry? How can you begin to trust that it’s safe to feel safe? Only once you know what you need, you can extend that to feel safe with your team. 🙏🏼 4️⃣ Build Trust: Encourage your team’s nervous systems to trust that it’s safe to be authentic and vulnerable. When people feel safe, vulnerability transforms into liberation. 5️⃣ Achieve "Flow" State: A safe environment leads to a flow state where we mitigate individuals fighting, defending, or protecting. It’s about expressing your highest potential and experiencing true belonging. 💭 What holistic measures are you implementing to foster psychological safety in your organization and ensure your team feels supported and empowered? Let’s cultivate a workplace culture where everyone feels valued, supported, and motivated to excel. 🖤 🔥 How I can help: Whether in 1:1 coaching or organizational workshops, I partner with senior leaders and leadership teams to cultivate peak well-being and a 1% culture, unlocking increased productivity and revenue while retaining your team for twice as long! "Why don't I just go meditate, or even, go for a run?" I loved receiving this curiousity-provoking question this past week during a conversation about the work I facilitate. My response is a bit layered too, just like us. 😏 Sure, meditation and running are great for clearing your head in the moment, but they don’t always equip you to anticipate, address, or understand the deeper issues causing stress. It’s like mopping the floor without fixing the leak. And let’s be honest, who wants to keep mopping the same spot over and over?! For those feeling disassociated or "shutdown", meditation might be the last thing you need. 🧘🏼♀️ Instead, it's knowing, what's the actual resource YOU need right now? 🧠 Our nervous system (i.e: the body's internal command centre) carries a lot of wisdom about what’s happening for us. For example, dealing with constant stress without understanding: → What is activating it? → How can we witness and complete the emotional cycle? → How can we express and release those emotions? When we focus on quick fixes without deeper work, we can end up in a never-ending loop of stress management without real resolution. 🥴 ⚡️ If you want your nervous system to be your most trusted ally, enquire about my private 1:1 coaching and/or trainings & workshops for leadership teams. Just 30 days from now... ↳ One client, a CEO of a booming tech company, was stuck in constant firefighting mode and burning out fast. Working together, he's now delegating like a pro, focusing on big-picture strategy, and even managed to take a vacation without being tethered to his email. Who knew CEOs could actually relax? ↳ Another client, a Senior Executive in the finance sector, used to struggle with high stress and low team morale. In our first 90 days, she implemented new well-being practices and saw a 25% boost in team focus/productivity and a significant drop in her own stress levels. Happy leader, happy team! I could go on, but you get the picture. When you focus on understanding and regulating your nervous system, rewiring your brain, these are the kinds of results you can expect. You'll have more time to focus on what truly matters. You'll foster a stronger, more engaged team. You'll create a culture where everyone, including you, thrives. You'll generate more revenue. This is what's available for you to achieve when you work with me. 😎 Leadership isn't just about leading others; it's about exploring the foundational roots behind what activates you. Understanding this can truly transform how you lead and interact with your team. I can’t wait to see what our first 30, 60, 90 days together have in store for us. It's unconventional, but the impact is undeniable. The future of work may hinge on it ... Polyvagal Theory isn't just about mental health; it's the gateway to peak performance. 👉🏼 Consider this: we're not just driven by our brains; our bodies play a critical role. The vagus nerve, the longest cranial nerve, is a key player. It influences our ability to connect, create, and innovate, impacting our mental health and overall well-being. Imagine a workplace where everyone is at their peak. A place where stress fuels creativity instead of stifling it. A space where connection and collaboration are not just buzzwords but a lived reality. 💗 It's not a utopia. It's possible. ✨ Start by understanding the science. Get to know your nervous system. Make it a priority to foster a culture where well-being isn't an afterthought but the foundation of your success. It's a non-conventional approach, yes. But the results will speak for themselves. It transformed my view on leadership and team dynamics. Until next week’s chat with Carrie Gallant J.D., here are two insights: 1️⃣ Safety as a Performance Catalyst: When employees feel safe, their social engagement system is activated. This boosts collaboration, trust, and effective communication - key ingredients for high-performing teams. 2️⃣ The Power of Co-Regulation: Leaders can influence their team’s nervous systems by managing their own stress responses. This creates a ripple effect, fostering a calmer, more resilient, and productive workplace. RSVP to our LinkedIn Live next week ⤵ https://lnkd.in/eTXuz9-k Can’t wait for our chat next week?! 👋🏼 I partner with senior leaders and teams to cultivate peak well-being and a 1% culture productivity, unlocking increased revenue while retaining your team for twice as long!
