Throughout the past decade, Jenny-Lee has been a driving force behind integrating LivingWorks programs like LivingWorks safeTALK and LivingWorks ASIST into workplaces, universities, and communities across Ontario. As a certified LivingWorks safeTALK coach and LivingWorks ASIST trainer, she has empowered countless individuals to join the #NetworkOfSafety, equipping them with the skills to be suicide-alert helpers and caregivers. But Jenny-Lee’s impact goes even further—she’s been instrumental in shaping mental health strategies, influencing workplace policies, and leading awareness coalitions that encourage open dialogue around suicide prevention and life promotion. This fall, she’ll take her dedication to the next level by pursuing a Master of Applied Health Sciences at Western University, underscoring her commitment to advancing mental wellness in diverse communities. In her new role, Jenny-Lee is eager to support and collaborate with our incredible network of trainers, expanding the reach of these life-saving programs even further. A Network of Safety means that everyone can have a role in suicide prevention, and LivingWorks has training for every role. At Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona, PHELIPE Salinas is the Integrated Primary Prevention Chief and he explains how they are utilizing LivingWorks ASIST and safeTALK to create an installation that is #SaferFromSuicide This requires more than just “awareness training”, a PowerPoint presentation or a few posters on a notice board, it means developing skills as taught in ASIST to have the conversations necessary to speak openly about suicide, listen to understand, and create safety.
