Several of our colleagues from around the world recently convened in the Philippines to witness firsthand how our Impact Agenda comes to life in one of our markets. Over the course of the weeklong Impact Agenda Adventure, colleagues volunteered with several community partners, including the Haribon Foundation where they prepared seedlings of native tree species. After the seedlings have matured, they will be planted to support forest restoration and flood prevention efforts in the country. #ManulifeImpact

Today we announced that Steve Finch has been appointed President and CEO of Manulife Asia, succeeding Phil Witherington, effective May 9th. Steve has been with Manulife for 32 years in commercial, functional, and general management roles across our business. As our Chief Actuary and an executive leadership team member since 2016, Steve helped drive our transformation and strong financial performance, including historic transactions that reshaped our portfolio and validated the prudence of our reserves. We’re excited to announce the Manulife Life Lessons Scholarship Program is now accepting applications from students in Canada. This program assists students who have lost a parent or legal guardian, with little to no life insurance coverage, by helping to fund their post-secondary education.  Applications are open until March 31, 2025. Dr. BJ Miller’s life changed in an instant following a near-death experience during his university years. Now a palliative care physician, he supports people living with a terminal illness. We had the privilege of speaking with BJ Miller, MD at our Longer. Healthier. Better. symposium, where he shared insights on caring for loved ones and the supportive actions that can make a meaningful impact.

Recently, several colleagues joined forces to participate in an event dedicated to empowering women in the workplace. In collaboration with the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC), colleagues shared their career journeys with newcomer professionals, offered valuable insights on achieving success, and engaged in dynamic table discussions led by mentees offering their personal workplace perspectives.  #ManulifeImpact

We are thrilled to partner with Rock The Street, Wall Street (RTSWS) to inspire young women to pursue careers in finance. The nonprofit equips high school students with essential financial and investment knowledge, while leveraging the expertise of women leaders in the financial industry as volunteer instructors and coaches. Rock The Street, Wall Street operates programs in more than 60 high schools across Canada, the US, and the UK. #IWD2025 #ManulifeImpact
