🌿 **Jojutla Central Gardens: A Resilient Oasis** 🌿 After the devastating 09/17 earthquakes in Mexico, Jojutla was one of the most affected communities in the state of Morelos, suffering damage to multiple structures and public spaces. To rebuild an identity that uses public spaces as its medium, while obtaining community approval, was the major challenge for developing **Jardines Centrales de Jojutla**¹. 🌳 **Design Inspired by Trees** The core idea came from the trees—unique elements that survived the earthquake without damage. The Civic Centre of Jojutla became the “Central Gardens of Jojutla,” evoking the concept of resiliency through vegetation. The arcades, inspired by traditional regional architecture, serve as frames for civic and leisure events. Artisanal ochre brick, basaltic grey stone, and local flora create a harmonious space¹. 🌸 **Diverse Atmospheres** Thoughtful architectural and landscape design generates shaded areas on the open plaza, ranging from dense vegetation zones with stone benches under tree shadows to a civic square with hard pavements. These spaces recognize and fortify transit, pause, leisure, and community encounters¹. 📸 Swipe to see more images of this inspiring project! 👉🏼 ²³⁴ #JojutlaCentralGardens #ResilientDesign #PublicSpaces #ArchitectureInspiration
