The MSRC is grateful to The Shearer Group, Inc. and the Center for Maritime Education (CME) for the confidence they have shown in entrusting us with the development of an azimuth propulsion pusher tug model. In a spirit of collaboration, the MSRC and the CME are leveraging their respective expertise to meet the specific needs of the maritime industry.
In May 2024, Ingram Barge Company reached out to the Center for Maritime Education (CME) to develop a custom simulator model for a new z-drive vessel in their fleet. Our CME team quickly mobilized, gathering critical information from previous owners and working closely with The Shearer Group, Inc., the vessel’s original designer. Our objective was to add this model to our training library in time for Ingram’s 2025 training program. By September, CME–Houston received the model for operational testing and validation, ahead of its installation at CME–Paducah. We are grateful to The Shearer Group, Inc. for providing essential vessel documentation and expert insight in naval architecture and marine engineering. Special thanks to Paul Racicot, MBA and the team at the Maritime Simulation and Resource Centre / Centre de simulation et d'expertise maritime in Quebec City, Canada, for delivering an exceptional simulator model on time and under budget. At CME, we’re thrilled to bring such partnerships to life and see the results of our collaborative efforts as we continue advancing maritime education. #MaritimeInnovation #Collaboration #SimulatorTraining #MarineEngineering #MaritimeSimulation
