In the Miami Design District , culture is embedded in the retail experience. This creative district, rooted in #retail, has redefined what a shopping destination can be—where architecture, design, and public art come together to shape how people experience place. Driven by a bold creative placemaking strategy, the District integrates both permanent and temporary cultural moments into the everyday, making art an essential part of how people move through and connect with the space. That vision comes to life with "Marta Minujín: Dreamscape", a temporary installation on view until March 31 that transforms public space through play and participation. One of its centrepieces, "Sculpture of Desires (2019)", rises 30 feet high in Jungle Plaza and its newest counterpart, "Emotional Candy (2025)", invites visitors into a disorienting maze designed to blend movement, sound, and reflection. Together, they show how thoughtfully embedded public art can turn a shopping destination into a cultural experience. 📍 On view March 18–31. Presented by Miami Design District and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA Miami). Conceived and co-produced by Meet People Meet Places with support from Fundación Ama Amoedo, Craig Robins and Clarice O. Tavares. #MiamiDesignDistrict #CreativePlacemaking #PublicArt #RetailExperience #ArteEstrategia #ShoppingDestination #CulturalProgramming #MASSIVartLoves

'Forest Dancer' by Studio ENESS transformed a space into an immersive experience where shadows danced, pulses of light wove stories, and a simple structure became a gathering place. More than just an installation, it proved that even the most unexpected places can spark wonder. Blurring the lines between art, architecture, and interaction, this piece challenged us to rethink public spaces. Not just as pathways, but as destinations that inspire belonging. 📸 Ismail Noor, Seeing Things Studio #MASSIVartLoves #ImmersiveArt #ArtInstallation #CreativeCities #CreativePlacemaking #PublicArt #ImmersiveDesign

🌸 Van Cleef & Arpels’ "Fifth Avenue Blooms™", imagined by Alexandre Benjamin Navet, redefined one of the world’s most iconic streets—proving that temporary art can leave a lasting impression. Bold pastels and sculptural forms, inspired by both real and imagined flora, disrupted the urban rhythm, inviting passersby to pause, engage, and see their surroundings differently. More than a visual enhancement, it was also functional—offering places to sit, linger, and experience the city from a fresh perspective. A powerful example of how art does more than beautify a space—it shapes identity, creates moments of connection, and redefines how we move through the world. #INSPO #UrbanDesign #CreativePlacemaking #PublicArt #CityExperience #CulturalStrategy #ArtInPublicSpaces #TransformingCities

Can art change the way we feel about a space? Ernesto Neto’s immersive installation at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche was a powerful example of how art can reshape our perception of place. By reimagining the serpent as a symbol of wisdom and renewal, Neto transformed the retail environment into a multi-sensory experience beyond shopping. His work invited visitors to engage with space in a profoundly tactile and emotional way: 🌿 Walk barefoot on dried leaves and turmeric. 🐍 Stand beneath a 28-meter-long crochet sculpture. 🌀 Let scent, texture, and light reconnect you to your surroundings. Though temporary, 'Le La Serpent' demonstrated how immersive art can leave a lasting impact, proving that art doesn’t just decorate—it creates emotional connections that redefine our relationship with places. #MASSIVartLoves #ImmersiveArt #PublicArt #Placemaking #CreativePlacemaking #RetailExperience

Accessibility can be seen as a regulatory requirement rather than an opportunity to enhance engagement and create more welcoming spaces. But what if integrating accessibility from the outset could contribute to stronger communities and more vibrant developments? With 30% of Canadians living with a disability, ensuring that public and private spaces are designed for inclusivity is not just about compliance—it’s about creating environments where everyone can participate fully. In our latest conversation with Shay Erlich, Founder & Executive Director of Ready For Access, we explore why accessibility should be a key consideration in real estate and urban development, and how it can enhance the user experience while creating long-term value.👇 https://lnkd.in/gBMqRx3w #InclusiveDesign #Placemaking #UrbanDevelopment #DisabilityConsulting #ChronicIllness #Accessibility #DisabilityInclusion

🚀 Must-Read: 𝘓𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘈𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨! We’re proud to be contributors to 𝘓𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘈𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨, a new publication developed by Canada’s Placemaking Community, the Canadian Urban Institute (CUI), PlacemakingUS, and leading experts across the country and internationally. This visually rich, magazine-style report dives into the growing impact of placemaking in Canada, offering valuable insights and case studies. One stat that really stood out to us: 📈 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝟰-𝘁𝗼-𝟭 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀. Studies show that for every dollar invested in placemaking, cities and developers can generate up to four times the return through increased tourism, local spending, and rising property values. Placemaking isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s a powerful economic driver. ✨ A huge thank you to the teams behind this report for their incredible efforts in advancing placemaking across North America. Your work continues to inspire and shape the future of our cities! 🔗 Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gXZ7SSYj Community Foundations of Canada | Fondations communautaires du Canada #Placemaking #CreativePlacemaking #UrbanDevelopment #RealEstateDevelopment #PublicArt #UrbanDesign #MASSIVart #LetsTalkAboutPlacemaking

🎨 𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧: 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗟𝗼𝘂 Bold, minimalist, and deeply rooted in the Mexican landscape, Hola Lou (Luisa Salas López) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges the worlds of design and fine art. Her abstract compositions—characterized by fluid shapes and an earthy, vibrant palette—capture the essence of nature and movement with striking simplicity. From paintings to large-scale murals and textile patterns, Hola Lou’s artistic journey is driven by an intuitive balance between minimalism and the warmth of Latin American colours. Her work is an exploration of form, emotion, and the deep connection between environment and identity. ✨ We were thrilled to collaborate with #HolaLou for a special #NBA exhibition in Mexico City.
