About us

Albertans Protecting Albertans! In a world littered with security companies, what sets us apart? Maxx Security Services was founded in 2021 based upon a dream to be different. We are culture focused and embrace diversity. Our team believes in family and community. We have all been witness to subpar management and practices, feeling like a number and not an important piece of the organization. The result is high turnover and unhappy dissatisfied staff. For you, the client, it means not knowing who your guard will be each day and encountering poorly trained personnel requiring micromanaging. Our goal is to provide the best services possible throughout the province of Alberta. We have been supported by the amazing people of this province and we want to give back and protect them. With a diverse background in security and management across our executive team, we utilize up to date training and equipment to give any client whether large or small, an outstanding security experience. We pride ourselves in giving back to the community and believe that if you are blessed, you are to bless back. We are out and about in the homeless and senior community giving back whenever we can. To effectively provide security services you must understand the communities you will be working with. In addition, we support and advocate for our military and emergency frontline workers.

  • 🔥 KEEP YOUR KIDS SAFE: Budget-friendly, DIY Home Safety Tips Here are steps you can take or tips you can teach your kids to increase home safety specifically for your younger family members: ➡️ Answer the phone safely. Teach your kids to never say that a parent isn’t home when they answer the phone. “They’re busy right now, but I can take a message.” If an upsetting or disturbing call comes through, ensure they know which family member they can contact immediately and how. ➡️ Have an easily-accessible list of contacts. Emergency contacts, family contacts, emergency services, etc. Make sure that kids know how to call 911 (and when it’s appropriate or necessary to do so), and how to reach other family members. ➡️ Teach them your home address. Have your home address in an easy-to-access spot so your kids know how to share the address if they need to call 911. Make sure they know that this information is top-secret and to never share it with anyone else. ➡️ The door is never, ever to be opened to strangers. It doesn’t matter if the stranger at the door is wearing a delivery driver uniform, or is a neighbour they are somewhat acquainted with, etc. The door stays shut if it isn’t someone you, as their parent or guardian, have clearly stated is a safe individual. ➡️ A safe room is a good idea. If possible, create a safe and secure space inside your home. Taking extra measures to make a room as secure as possible with deadbolts and heavy-duty doors and windows and practicing an emergency situation with your family can go a long way in providing security during a potential home invasion situation. What else would you add to this list? Let us know in the comments!

  • Four scenarios where it costs MORE to NOT have a security guard…⬇️ ⌛ Late Hours: Having guards can be a necessity in order to keep your workers safe. Whether they are working in a building or walking across a dark parking lot, working late comes with certain risks. 💰 High Crime Location: If your business is in a very remote area or in a neighbourhood known for high crime rates, security guards are a must. It is far more affordable to pay good guards than it is to constantly have to deal with theft, vandalism, and worse. 🚨 Dealing with Emergencies: If you’re concerned about dealing with medical emergencies, physical harassment, etc., you’ll want security guards who can deal with these issues so that you don’t have to. Better yet, some of these issues can be completely prevented with trained guards present. 🔐 Having Sensitive Data or High Ticket Inventory to Protect: When things like corporate espionage, expensive equipment and inventory, etc. are a concern for your type of business, you need guards to avoid the much higher costs of dealing with theft and damage. • 🚨 This single (completely free) safety tip, can save your life: Lock locks. “Oh I’m just running from my car back into my house to grab something” - doesn’t matter; lock locks along the way. Locks on your car, your home, garage, etc. There are far too many instances where someone didn’t bother to use a lock and didn’t realize they were being watched and/or followed. Things can happen within seconds.

  • Safety Tips for Women Living Alone - keep reading! ⬇️ If you’re a woman (or anyone, really) living alone and would like to up your security in simple, budget-friendly ways, we’ve got you covered! 🔒 Don’t be predictable. Routines are great, but they can also make it very easy for someone who is watching you to know what you’re doing and when. Keep your routine, especially the parts of it that are visible to the outside (or online) world, unpredictable. 🔒 Avoid the dark. Keeping to well-lit areas is the safest option when moving around outside, alone. Better yet, choose well-lit AND high-traffic areas. 🔒 New place? New locks. If you move into a new place, do NOT keep the current locks! You never know who still has keys and access to your home. 🔒 Use and fortify locks. Keep your doors and windows locked. Look into how you can install better locks, how to fortify existing locks, and how to add locks to windows (hint: we have a blog post about this! DM us for the direct link). 🔒 Share less online. Don’t be loud about living alone. Don’t share your plans on social media until after the fact. Don’t meet strangers you met online, alone or at your home. Meet in public places and ideally, bring a friend. 🔒 Share more with loved ones. Pick a family member and close friend or two, and keep them up to date on what you’re doing. Where will you be when? For how long? With whom? It’s easy to shoot off a text or voice note and make sure someone always knows where you are. Be sure to share this!
