Stampede - that’s a wrap. 4 trips to the grounds, many themed events, late nightly pickups for our kids..it’s been fun, but I’m happy to move into the rest of summer. Top 3 Highlights: 1. Chucks with girlfriends (even in +36 heat) & seeing the drone production in the evening show 2. Visiting the new BMO Center and the Stampede Cellar - it’s my new favourite part of stampede 3. While in Toronto at the Best Managed Companies symposium, we heard from Jeremy Gutsche. Wow what an impressive guy. As the CEO of Trend Hunter, he challenged us to disrupt the drift and seek out ways to build new pathways in our brains and our businesses. My top 3 takeaways: 💎 success comes from hard work and overlooked opportunity. There is immense power in speaking with customers/potential customers to find the overlooked opportunity. When was the last time you phoned up 100 customers or knocked on 100 doors? 💎 say “YES” to something new especially when it is uncomfortable. Be curious, insatiable, and willing to be reckless in pursuit of growth and innovation 💎 invest intentional time to being creative - as an example hold innovation labs regularly with time to brainstorm, play around with new technologies, or test out AI tools.
