    The Life Sciences Trainers & Educators Network (LTEN) 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 was this week and our CEO Jessica Knox and COO Ariella Sax came back inspired. We heard from keynote Devin C. Hughes Workplace Culture Expert, about the importance of connectivity, especially in this post covid world. The way we show up as leaders and the positive energy we bring feeds onto others. As leaders, we need to be asking deeper questions to our colleagues, peers, and direct reports and go beyond what's happening on the surface level so people can bring their whole selves to work. We practiced this at our tables and it was great to connect more deeply with Laura Last, Chloe Bangs, MBA, Christopher Bangs, Ian K.. On day 2, we heard from Mary Murphy, Organizational Psychologist & Equity Specialist, about fixed and growth mindset. Traditional mindset teaching creates a false dichotomy between fixed and growth mindsets and that you can only have one. But in reality, it's a spectrum that you can move across depending on the situation. Of course, a growth mindset culture leads to greater creativity and impact so she got us thinking about identifying mindset triggers for ourselves and our teams and as leaders, can we create an environment of giving proper feedback that will move people more toward a growth mindset. The forum ended with two interactive learning leader discussions with highlights from Lisa Suen, MHA talking about new ISO Learning Standards and Marcello Rinaldi, eMBA, Ma. HRM giving great ideas for training the training team. It was inspiring to be among great leaders and learn from each other. Thanks to Lauren Harbert for another successful event!

    🎉 The Ontario Pharmaceutical Marketing Association has done it again! Kaidi Zhou, MSc and Julia Hatherell represented Metrix at the GM Spotlight event earlier this week. Thanks to the incredible panel and moderator (Colleen Coxson, Kenneth Custer, Paul Petrelli, Leandra Wells, PhD, MBA and Sangeeta Shah B.Sc.Phm). Here are some of our takeaways: ✈ The journey to the GM role... • There is not one single path. GMs come from diverse backgrounds and starting points, such as academia (2 science PhDs on the panel!) and agency. • You can always expect some imposter syndrome, but don’t let it deter you. Know that you deserve to be where you are in your journey. 🤝 As a GM... • Your job isn’t to be the smartest person in the room. Rather, it’s to ensure the right people are in each position and they are empowered to be at their best. • Ultimately, everything always comes down to the patients and seeing the impact we make in their lives.
