Many people are unfamiliar with the terms like genetics and genetic memory, and how these can be linked to physical pain or freedom. Genes can be thought of as the individual units of a biological "software." Just like software, genes can be influenced and upgraded through the right inputs or instructions. These genetic influences directly impact our physicality. For example, if we train our bodies to sit or sleep in specific postures, our bodies will adapt and become proficient at those movements. Conversely, by encouraging safe and varied physical movement, we can enhance our physical freedom and agility. We can find similar connections between food and genes or sleep and genes for which there are lot of videos. Happy Tuesday, Make sure to move your body! #body #physicalfreedom #mindfulstrength #fitness #wellness

𝗔 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯. We want to find our "ikigai" - what we love, what we're good at, what we can be paid for, and what the world needs. When I considered a change in my career, I read about "ikigai" and put immense pressure on myself to "find it". No matter how hard I tried to think, things didn't quite match up. Now there are multiple reasons why I take the "ikigai" way with a pinch of salt. 𝟭. 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺 The World Economic Forum stated in 2023 that having many careers will become the norm. (https://lnkd.in/exEeHrVe) Two-fifths of the core skills workers have today will be disrupted by technological change by 2027. Some are working on two jobs at once, some are doing side-hustles outside of their full-time jobs, some are switching fields. A winding career path is becoming more expected and accepted. 𝟮. 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 Studies like the one conducted by Cal Newport, have shown that passion is the side effect of mastery, or even follows mastery. Moreover, every job has its likeable bits and not-so-likeable bits. A career path may still be worthwhile even if you know you won't enjoy every bit of it. 𝟯. 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 Ikigai gives us a framework to start thinking about our careers - but most of my clients struggled to know the answers for themselves, especially in the "mission" quadrant. It could be overwhelming to start with the aim to know everything, right now. To me, ikigai is an ideal. We can aim to get closer to it, but it is not a must-have from tomorrow. Finding a way that works for you requires patience. Your career is a journey. Taking steps to explore your path far outweighs the need to "find the one thing" from day one. Don't let someone else's ideal get in the way of your adventure. Image credit: Penguin #ikigai #dreamjob #careerchange #careerdesign #careerpath

Proprioception is the body's ability to sense its own movement, action, and location. It is involved in every muscle movement you make. Without proprioception, you would have to consciously think about every step you take. Proprioception also allows you to move and maintain balance even with your eyes closed. It enables you to sense the position and movement of your body parts without visual input. Practical exercises like walking with your eyes closed can help improve proprioception. These activities challenge your body's ability to sense its position and movement without relying on visual cues, thereby enhancing your proprioceptive skills. Yoga practices, as demonstrated in this video, are another effective way to enhance proprioception. #proprioception #kinesthesia #fitness #awareness #body #mindfulstrength #mindfullness #lifestyle #corporatefitness

One exercise that gives the most bang for your buck is simply hanging. At @mindfulstrength, we teach this fundamental movement to corporate professionals and researchers with sedentary lifestyles. Hanging, often missing in modern life, helps decompress the spine, mobilize the shoulders, enhance grip strength, and boost overall resilience. Just hang and let gravity do the work for you. #hanging #corporatewellness #fitness #lifestyle #shoulders #mobility #wellness #mindfulstrength

What is the requirement to make an individual fitness journey successful? Understanding this question about the present situation is crucial for charting the best fitness roadmap. Requirement elicitation is crucial in any project, including fitness journeys. It involves understanding and defining goals, preferences, and constraints. This process ensures that the fitness plan is tailored to individual needs, enhancing the likelihood of success and satisfaction. Defining fitness goals involves setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) objectives. For example, if you're aiming to improve your research stamina as a scientist or corporate professional, a goal could be to increase your daily active hours by incorporating short stretching or yoga sessions. This approach ensures your goals are clear and attainable, aligning with your professional and personal development. Understanding your fitness requirements involves assessing your current physical condition, goals, and any specific health concerns. Gathering information can start with researching fitness assessments, like the mobility, endurance and strength assessments could be the primary tests, to understand different fitness standards. A mentor can guide you through this process, offering personalized advice based on their experience and knowledge, helping you set realistic goals and develop a tailored fitness plan. For example, a mentor could help you interpret the results of these assessments and recommend specific exercises or routines that align with your goals. Time-based goals provide a clear deadline, fostering a sense of urgency and helping prioritize tasks. However, they may lead to a focus on timelines over the quality of actions. Balancing them with action-based goals can ensure sustainable progress. #fitness #corporatefitness #healthandwellness #mindfulstrength #outdoorsessions #summers #fitlife #ottawa #fitnessrequirement #requirementelicitation #fitnessanalysis #fitnessproject

One of the most fascinating revelations in the last decade is that muscles act as endocrine organs, secreting hormones that impact every system in the body. Recent studies have shown that when muscles contract, they release proteins into the bloodstream known as HOPE MOLECULES, making individuals more resilient to stress. The key takeaway is both simple and profound: your muscles produce natural antidepressant molecules through movement, offering a unique way to combat stress. Keep moving to harness the power of these natural mood boosters! 🏃♂️💪 #MuscleHealth #AntidepressantMolecules #KeepMoving #organs #hormones #hopemolecules #health #fitness

Why one should do variety of physical activity ? If the process of homeostasis shut down your production of natural LH FSH and testosterone for more than 2 months it will be very hard to restart the production. Human brain and network neuron will adapt to your everyday physical exercise, brain process, food intake and sleep pattern. Your brain will analyse all that and create adaptation to not produce those hormone while being on this life style. So, this is one of the reason that one can stop seeing the improvement in there physical fitness and freedom. Even even if you are following your routine to boost your hormone, it will not restart but it will be just a boost. The boost will send signal to your brain to reanalyze your everyday routine and if the routine is following the same network neuron during the shutdown, it will not restart the production the way it must be. One has to find a way to break that usual network pattern and to shock the body and brain. This shock should be in the safe environment with right dose and environment. I always switch between variety of activities ranging from handbalancing, yoga, weights, walking, sprinting and so on. #sprinting #hormones #homeostasis #fitness #corporatefitness #lifestyle #mindfulstrength #fitness #lifecycle #ottawa #montreal
