While lithium-ion battery failure incidents continue to occur, the overall rate of incidents has sharply decreased, as lessons learned from early failures have been incorporated into the latest designs and best practices. The graph below shows the battery failure rate per cumulative deployed capacity. Note that the global installed capacity of utility-scale battery energy storage systems has dramatically increased over the last five years. Past claims can help insurers prevent losses. Insurers need to better understand their past claim data. #insurance #claims #prevention

We recognized the potential of open-source models like Llama early on, and we've developed and tested impactful use cases that improve insurers' loss ratios. Being among the first is rewarding, but we're even more excited about the rapid growth in opensource model usage, which will strengthen the ecosystem, enhance the models, and further advance us and our solutions. With nearly 350 million downloads—over 20 million in the last month alone—Llama is now the leading open-source model. We're proud to be part of this journey and look forward to continuing to drive innovation in insurance #LLM #Llama #Insurance

With the recent record-breaking rainstorms in Toronto, it's a good time to revisit some of the flood protection work we've done. Two years ago, we collaborated with the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction to create a Flood Prevention Guide. This guide is designed to help municipalities better prepare for floods. Unlike resources based on recent events or anecdotes, our guide is backed by past claim data. We encourage everyone to take a look. While the guide can't stop the rain, it focuses on addressing the root causes of flood damage. https://lnkd.in/g_S2zRp7 (Image Source: NYT)
