About us
Located in Saint John, New Brunswick, Moosehead Breweries Limited is the last major brewery in Canada owned by Canadians. The Oland family's passion for beer has helped them steer Moosehead through devastating fires, Prohibition, the Great Depression, two world wars, obstructive trade barriers, and bruising competition from breweries 100 times its size. Through it all, this passion for serving Canadians never wavered, and it's this commitment to consumers and our authenticity that has pushed us to outlast.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our refreshed packaging for Cracked Canoe. Our mission with this design refresh was clear: carve out Cracked Canoe's unique identity within both the overall category and the Moosehead portfolio. We wanted a fresh and modern look to reinforce the ultra-light qualities of Cracked Canoe, which is only 100 calories and 3.5% ABV. At the center of the visual identity is a whimsical new brand mark: a canoeist paddling a moose. To coincide with the rollout of our new packaging, we launched an integrated campaign featuring digital video, social, and OOH executions that promote our brand’s “Paddle Slower” philosophy: a belief that life is most enjoyable when you make time to take it slow and appreciate life’s most relaxed moments. Led by the talented team at Conflict Advertising Inc., the new packaging design is already rolling out across Canada.

The moose is home! We are excited to announce this iconic piece of Saint John history, who previously sat on the Market Square Boardwalk, is now located at our brewery. This life-sized moose is a bronze sculpture crafted by Forest Hart. Join us at the Moosehead Taproom for a patio beer and snap a photo with our moose!

We are excited to announce that Patrick Oland has been named the Chair of Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Board of Directors. Patrick has served on the CME board since 2017 as a Vice Chair. With his 30 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, Patrick will help CME continue to improve their competitive position. Congratulations Patrick!
CME National Board Members and senior leadership are in Saint John, NB this week. While topping the highlights of Irving Pulp & Paper and Moosehead Breweries tours was a challenge, Tom Simms, 5th generation president of T.S. Simms, helped make this trip very memorable indeed. Mr. Simms presented CME National Chair Patrick Oland with a book diarizing Simm's own grandfather’s time as a past chair, dating back to 1928 - the last time a Saint Johner held the post. CME is proud to represent Canadian manufacturers from coast to coast to coast!

We’re excited to announce the national launch of our East Coast IPA and to celebrate we are taking a road trip! Follow our Small Batch Tiny Truck on its way from New Brunswick to Ontario, bringing a small taste of the East a little bit West. So far, we’ve visited the shortest and longest covered bridges in Canada and stopped in Quebec City for a cold pint of Moosehead at one of our longest standing customers with the iconic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac as our backdrop.
