Through charging restaurants no commissions, they retain their fair cut of sales. Consumers also get up to 30% cheaper prices on food delivery. Everybody wins. As we continue to integrate a scraping API that will make it easier for restaurants to partner with us and receive orders, we thought it would be the perfect time to share our tumultuous development journey, constantly switching either our development direction, technology stack or design style. We first realized that integrating with the POS systems used by restaurants would allow us to make signing up and sending/receiving orders incredibly simple, leading to our first switch to creating a custom backend API using the Backendless service. We then realized that we could use the power of web scraping to retrieve menus and restaurant details as well as send orders, consequently removing the need to partner with and develop for every single API out there, so we decided to re-work our ordering logic to incorporate this new method. It’s been three years since we first came up with our business concept. Since then, we’ve worked tirelessly. Today marks the day when we’re finally confident in our product and are making our first post. During the pandemic, we saw the insurgence of third-party delivery apps. One thing our team couldn’t figure out is how a ten-dollar meal suddenly turned to twenty with a delivery fee of “zero dollars”. From some professional research (Googling), we found the true cost of using food delivery apps: commissions that hurt everyone. We’ve developed a value-driven and optimized application that only charges a 75-cent flat rate to the customer. Nothing is charged towards our restaurants and nothing is taken from our drivers. We’ve put an incredible amount of effort to ensure long-term sustainability of our company and will continue doing so.
