Project Feature: 3071 Riverside Drive, Ontario We are thrilled to share our comprehensive site master plan for a large townhouse and condo development at 3071 Riverside Drive, Ottawa. Riverside Drive is not only a prime real estate location but also a significant roadway in the heart of Ottawa. Our collaboration with a private developer aimed to transform this site into a vibrant, pedestrian-focused community. Our client envisioned a space tailored for a mature demographic, while the city required us to reserve 0.8 hectares for green space. To create a successful master plan, we aligned our approach with the city’s Official Plan objectives and considered the expectations and concerns of current residents. The site, once home to Bayview Public School, boasts stunning views of Mooney’s Bay Beach, the Rideau River, and the Canal. At Nadi Group, we embraced the client’s vision and the city’s goals by enhancing the site’s resilience and longevity through sustainable solutions. Our master plan features green plazas, rooftop terraces, and a passive natural trail system, creating a harmonious blend of nature and community living. #NadiGroup #UrbanDesign #Sustainability #Ottawa #RealEstateDevelopment #CommunityBuilding

How Do We Design For Accessibility? Creating inclusive public spaces is essential for empowering everyone in our communities. By prioritizing accessibility in our designs, we can ensure that all individuals, regardless of their abilities, feel welcomed and valued. Here are some key ways we can foster inclusivity: 1. Universal Design Principles: Implement designs that accommodate a wide range of abilities and needs, from ramps and elevators to clear signage. 2. Community Involvement: Engage with individuals who experience barriers firsthand to understand their needs and gather feedback on design plans. 3. Flexible Spaces: Create adaptable environments that can be easily modified for different activities, ensuring everyone can participate. 4. Sensory-Friendly Features: Incorporate quiet areas and sensory tools to support those with sensory sensitivities. 5. Accessible Information: Ensure all communication, from maps to event announcements, is available in various formats, including Braille and digital accessibility options. #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign #PublicSpaces #CommunityEngagement #UniversalDesign #NadiGroup

The Power of Parks: Enhancing Quality of Life and Environmental Sustainability 🌍 As urbanization continues to rise, the importance of integrating parks and green areas into our communities has never been clearer. Here’s how these green spaces can transform our lives and our planet: 1. Mental Well-Being: Access to nature reduces stress, anxiety, and depression. Green areas provide a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, promoting mental clarity and overall happiness. 2. Physical Health: Parks encourage physical activity—whether it’s jogging, walking, or playing sports. Improved public health leads to lower healthcare costs and a healthier, more productive community. 3. Biodiversity: Urban green spaces support local wildlife and preserve biodiversity. By creating habitats for various species, we foster a balanced ecosystem that is crucial for our planet’s health. 4. Air Quality: Trees and plants act as natural air filters, absorbing pollutants and producing oxygen. Integrating more greenery in our cities can significantly improve air quality and combat climate change. 5. Community Connection: Parks serve as gathering places, fostering social interaction and community cohesion. They create opportunities for cultural events, recreational activities, and simply enjoying time with neighbors. 6. Climate Resilience: Green areas help mitigate urban heat and manage stormwater, reducing the risk of flooding and heat-related issues. This resilience is vital as we face the increasing impacts of climate change. Incorporating parks and green spaces isn’t just an aesthetic choice; it’s a necessity for a sustainable future. Let’s advocate for more green initiatives in our communities and invest in the well-being of both people and the planet. #Sustainability #UrbanPlanning #GreenSpaces #QualityOfLife #CommunityWellbeing #NatureHeals #NadiGroup

Poll: Your Architectural Design Preferences I’m excited to hear your thoughts on architectural styles! Each option reflects unique philosophies and aesthetics that shape our built environment. Here’s a quick overview to help guide your choice: 1. Modern: Characterized by clean lines, open spaces, and a focus on functionality, modern architecture emphasizes simplicity and the use of new materials. 2. Classical: Drawing from ancient Greek and Roman influences, classical architecture is known for its grandeur, symmetry, and intricate detailing, often showcasing columns and ornate decorations. 3. Brutalist: This bold style is defined by raw concrete and rugged forms. Brutalism often prioritizes functionality and a sense of solidity, making a strong statement in urban environments. 4. Minimalist: Less is more! Minimalism focuses on simplicity and the elimination of excess, creating serene spaces that emphasize light and form. We'd love to hear which style resonates with you! Vote and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

Project Feature: Bokeh, Kildonan Park Duck Pond We’re excited to look back at our collaboration with the Winnipeg Arts Council and artist Takashi Iwasaki to create a stunning lighting experience around the duck pond in Kildonan Park! Selected through a competitive process, our team designed three sculptural light fixtures inspired by the bokeh effect. These installations brighten the winter landscape, offering a vibrant contrast to the snowy canvas for park-goers and ice skaters. Partnering with local fabricator Prairie Pole Inc., we crafted 7.3-meter tall sculptures with custom-welded steel and colorful acrylic globes, featuring 15 RGB LED lights. Nadi Group led the project as artist, designer, and project manager. #ArtInstallation #WinnipegArts #NadiGroup #TakashiIwasaki #CommunityArt #KildonanPark #LightingDesign #WinterWonderland

Client Success Stories: Discovery Homes Ltd. "We at Discovery Homes appreciate the way Nadi Group conducts their business. They exemplify how to manage architectural guidelines for development in a way that beautifully maintains the overarching architectural vision, while also being customer-friendly. As coordinator of Selections and Approvals at Discovery, it is very important to have someone that I can connect with directly and on time when questions or issues arise with a build. This reason is why I am so grateful to have Malvin Soh as my contact at Nadi Group. I know he is just a phone call away and will work with me to achieve a design that my clients will love and that will blend beautifully with the already beautiful design of the Bridgwater development. Thank you to Malvin and Nadi Group for all that you do to help us, as builders, create the dream homes our customers desire!" - Murray Soko (Discovery Homes Ltd.)
