Today, we announced an investment of over $9M for two projects led by Net Zero Atlantic to develop offshore wind projects and clean technologies in the Atlantic region. This funding will support: 🔹A comprehensive electricity system integration study to determine how electricity produced from Atlantic Canada’s offshore wind resources can help decarbonize the regional electricity grid, as well as to identify opportunities to export renewable electricity and clean hydrogen. 🔹Research and development of promising emerging clean technologies, approaches and practices. Canso, Nova Scotia is the next community we are visiting as a part of the series of free offshore wind community information sessions we are offering across Nova Scotia. We will be at the Canso Lion's Club on September 25, from 6-8 p.m. All are welcome to participate and light refreshments will be provided. Register now: https://ow.ly/7PTp50TmKBJ At the session, participants will learn what we heard from previous discussions held across the province and in Indigenous communities, be given a presentation of more information based on the insights we gained from community members, and have a chance to partake in a meaningful conversation. At Net Zero Atlantic, we support Nova Scotia getting off coal by bringing technical information to communities and encouraging informed discussions about subjects related to the energy transition happening now. At this engagement, we are asking, "What does offshore wind potential mean for you and your community?"
