As we approach May 5th, the day dedicated to honouring MMIWG, let's focus on education, recognition, and empowerment to uplift Indigenous women and girls. 10 WAYS TO TAKE ACTION: 1.     EDUCATE YOURSELF: Indigenous women and girls face disproportionate rates of violence. Learn about the historical and systemic factors contributing to the crisis.  2.     RAISE AWARENESS: Share information on social media and engage in conversations. 3.     RECOGNITION AND REMEMBRANCE: Honoring the lives lost and supporting affected families is crucial. 4.     SUPPORT LOCAL INDIGENOUS-LED INITIATIVES: Direct your support to Indigenous-led organizations focusing on MMIWG issues. 5.     ATTEND EVENTS: Participate in community events and memorials. 6.     ADVOCATE FOR POLICY CHANGE: Support legislation that addresses the root causes of violence. 7.     DONATE TO SUPPORT SERVICES: Contribute to organizations providing vital resources to families affected by MMIWG. 8.     AMPLIFY INDIGENOUS VOICES: Share stories and perspectives of families and communities affected by MMIWG. 9.     CHALLENGE STEREOTYPES: Speak out against harmful attitudes and behaviors that perpetuate violence against Indigenous women and girls. 10.  EMPOWERMENT: Stay engaged in supporting Indigenous communities, particularly by promoting education, recognition, and amplifying the voices of Indigenous women and girls.
