The event begins with a blessing from an Elder, followed by Indigenous dancers. ▪️ Pokaiks - The Children's Commemorative Walk Date: Monday, Sept. 30 (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) Location: Contemporary Calgary, 701 11 St S.W. Details: Participate in this annual walk and gathering, with indoor events and performances focused on children and youth. Free event, all are welcome. ▪️ National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at Arts Commons Date: Monday, Sept. 30 Location: Arts Commons, 205 – 8 Ave. S.E. Details: Explore Indigenous art and culture through gallery tours, artist talks, and the Indigenous Makers Market. Features the Elders Story Project, sharing stories of resilience. ▪️ Michelle Good Presentation: Getting Under the Myth of Canadian History Date: Monday, Sept. 30 (12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.) Location: Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall, Rozsa Centre, UCalgary Details: Michelle Good, Cree author and advocate, shares her insights in this special presentation.
