Congrats to the Bruce B team and the Nordion employees who made this happen. Your hard work makes a difference to healthcare in Canada and around the world!
Congratulations to the dedicated Bruce Power and Nordion workers who have successfully completed the 2024 Cobalt Harvest at Bruce B. Thanks to their work, large volumes of Cobalt-60 will be exported from Ontario around the World to sterilize medical equipment keeping our hospitals clean and safe. They also successfully harvested a unique type of Cobalt-60 that is used in non-invasive cancer treatments. Immensely proud of this team who completed this work safely, effectively and with a high standard of care. This is 'Made in Ontario' at its best. To recognize all those involved in achieving this milestone the following quote from Stephen Lecce is a recognition of your hard work and leadership: “Nuclear energy isn’t just providing the reliable, affordable and clean power Ontario families and businesses need – it’s also the source of life-saving, cancer-fighting medical isotopes used around the world. Premier Ford and our government are proud to be leading the largest expansion of nuclear energy in Canada, which is positioning Ontario as the world’s leading supplier of medical isotopes.” ” -Hon. Stephen Lecce, Ontario Minister of Energy and Electrification. While they are always the first to recognize others, I would like to thank the operations leadership team at Bruce B including Adrian London, Rory McDougall P.
