A great instrument with loads of accessories that make the instrument even more versatile. A few examples of accessories are a pipe detector that can even monitor the inside of a scaffolding tube, a smear checker accessory that turns the CoMo into a smear checker, and a floor bogey for surveying of floor areas.
🙏Thank you those, who voted in our frisking poll from the last week ✅ Indeed the frisking process should be done carefully, staying close to the surface and performed slowly to meet the Minimal Detection Activities required by the radiation protection policy. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) edited good practice for contamination measurement and their rule of thumb is to move of one detector dimension per second. So how can the #CoMo help? The CoMo has a large surface area, thus allowing to monitor the area quicker. it is fun to see how well VIZRAD gets integrated in radiation protection training within various NUVIA entities. This time NUVIA Nordic in Sweden. We have used VIZRAD for many years here in Canada for unbias evaluation of the area frisked, speed and distance to ensure proper frisking techniques.
Det var ett sant nöje att resa med "Freddy" och Nuvia Nordic AB för att sätta upp VIZRAD och demonstrera det nya träningsystemet, för elever och instruktörer vid både Oskarshamn och Ringhals. Extra kul att systemet blev så väl mottaget och se hur eleverna praktiserade avsökning med detta system som har förmåga laddas med mängder av olika scenarion för simulerad kontaminationsavsökning och opartiskt utvärdera avsökt område, hastighet och avstånd.
