What a beautiful day this past Friday. Oakridge Landscape welcomed Co-op programs from both, Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School and Saltfleet District High School for a Landscape Education Day. It was a great hit. We created a total of 7 stations: 1. Blueprint reading 2. Proper Planting techniques 3. Elevations and Surveying. 4. Soil Production and Different Soil Blends 5. Equipment Operating 6. Interlock techniques and skills 7. Plant identification Students were able to engage and interact in each station learning the knowledge and basics behind each skill. *NOW HIRING* Grounds Labourer   Key Responsibilities: Run lawn mowers to maintain lawns in a neat and tidy appearance. Remove weeds from planting areas, pots, driveways, parking areas, etc. Pick up litter before mowing any area. Remove grass clippings from hard surfaces as well as planting areas. Trim shrubs and trees as required. Plant flowers and plants when needed. Key Requirements: Valid Driver’s License required. 1-2 years field experience preferred.

*NOW HIRING* Heavy Equipment Operator   Description: The position of Machine Operator will involve assisting our landscape construction operations with the operation of various types of equipment including bulldozers and excavators. This position is a seasonal position until late in the year; however, work is available in the winter months assisting our snow crews.   Requirements: Valid Driver’s license with a good driver’s abstract. Minimum of 1 - 3 years experience in a similar role. Experience operating a loader, bulldozer, or excavator.

Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King This summer we were awarded the historical tranformation of the famous Hamilton staircase of Christ the King Chruch. This 100 year old staircase has seen thousands of wedding and graduation photos over the years. The project required an in-depth review of the current foundation structure and analyzing plans from the 1920s.
