Today marks the annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡 Let us remember, now and always, the impact that colonization had, and continues to have, on Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island. Between 1867 and 1996, there were 140 federally run residential schools, which separated families, destroyed communities, and attempted to erase Indigenous cultures. ONTABA reasserts its commitment to: Disseminate education about cultural safety, humility, and appropriation to our members. Implement hiring and retention initiatives targeted to increase the number of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis professionals in the ABA field. Remove financial barriers for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis members to engage in our events. Build and sustain healthy, meaningful, reciprocal relationships with Indigenous leaders, Elders, clients, Nations, and communities. ONTABA understands that reconciliation is an ongoing process, and our commitment to continue to engage in allyship with disenfranchised communities, including Indigenous communities, remains our top priority. We ask all of our members to take time today to reflect on how they might contribute to truth and reconciliation efforts in their personal and professional lives. For more information on the Day of Truth and Reconciliation, please look at the Canadian government’s website: https://lnkd.in/gHrRzxkc #truthandreconciliation #everychildmatters #nationaldayoftruthandreconciliation

REMINDER FOR October 1, 2024! Creating Successful Supervision Experiences for Behaviour Analysis Supervisees and Supervisors. 🔗 CLAIM YOUR SPOT ON BEHAVIOR LIVE https://lnkd.in/g-ZsaiSK 🎙️ SPEAKER: Julie Koudys 1 CEU AVAILABLE Supervision is an integral part of the training process for aspiring behaviour analysts. An effective supervision experience should improve supervisee technical, professional and ethical repertoires, and support case conceptualization and decision-making abilities. Ideally, supervision should also serve as a model of effective supervisory practices for future supervisors. However, an effective supervision experience is not guaranteed. In this webinar, Dr. Koudys will discuss considerations for supervisees and supervisors for crafting an effective supervision experience, including (a) identifying a supervisor/supervisee and initiating the supervision relationship, (b) maintaining a positive supervision experience, (c) evaluating the supervision experience, and (d) terminating the supervisory relationship. Considerations for both supervisees and supervisors will be discussed. #ONTABA #BehaviourAnalysis #ABA #AppliedBehaviourAnalysis #NonTraditionalABA #BehaviourTherapy #AcceptanceAndCommitmentTherapy #ForensicPsychiatry #ChildWelfare #TherapyTools #BehaviourLive #PsychologyPanel #ProfessionalDevelopment #OntarioEvents #OntarioTherapists
