Earlier today, OREA released its latest whitepaper, Continuing to Raise the Bar for Real Estate in Ontario, proposing several bold policy recommendations for the third and final phase of TRESA implementation, aimed at enhancing professionalism and consumer protections in real estate. These recommendations include: - Eliminating the auctioneer loophole, ending the two-tiered system of consumer protection by ensuring anyone transacting real estate is registered with the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) - Introducing a new two-year articling and mentorship requirement for all new registrants, providing more practical training for new agents - Allowing RECO to issue administrative monetary penalties (AMPs) for minor, indefensible infractions Read the full whitepaper outlining OREA’s nine bold policy recommendations that will raise the bar for real estate, bringing Ontarians peace of mind when buying or selling their home. https://lnkd.in/eigsh_G3
